Come what may, but now it’s clear for me that Washington does all that possible in order to set realization of BTC pipeline in motion in Georgia. It’s very important for USA, because it will allow the free flow of oil from the Caspian Sea. But Saakashvili blocks the construction of Georgian section of pipeline that leads to upsetting the schedule of the whole project. Certainly Georgian leader is pressing for better terms of Georgian part of this project, such as additional financing, enlargement of transit quota list and some others, in order to solve difficult economic problems of his country. And it’s understandable that Americans have lost their temper and changed their political stakes in Georgia. Now USA supports the New Rights Party that is the arch rival to Saakashvili and the main strength of which are great financial recourses, as its members and supporters include many of Georgian most successful businessmen. And there is no surprise for me that Saakashvili has to fight for power by sabotaging the BTC pipeline. Moreover, it’s quite possible that Saakashvili will win Chechen “rebels” to his side. I mean their participation in terrorist acts around the BTC pipeline and their help in the case of possible attempts of his presidential removal by force.
