maplesyrup Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Meet NAFTA on Steroids The "NAFTA-plus" plan has also been referred to as "deep integration." Skeptics see it as a plan to eliminate national sovereignty and erode the American concept of representative government accountable to the people under the framework of the Constitution. Discussions so far indicate that Canada, under the new agreement, would immediately sign on to the U.S. strategic missile defense initiative. Canada would also make its vast lumber resources available to the U.S. and Mexican markets and provide more open access to the northern neighbor's oil, natural gas and hydro-electric power resources. Under the pretext of national secuirty, the right wing with PM Martin has taken over, and now will sell us out. All the values and ideals that we cherish in Canada are going to flushed down the toilet. What a bunch of pathetic wimps we have in control of our Canadian government these days. Slavik44 Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 If they wont honour NAFTA why would they honour something that allows and requires even higher levels of cooperation. What is Nafta Plus anyways, Get screwed two times for the price of one? Quote The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. - Ayn Rand --------- http://www.politicalcompass.org/ Economic Left/Right: 4.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.54 Last taken: May 23, 2007
