Argus Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 Another aspect of the Auditor General's report the other day was a spotlight on Ontario infrastructure. Like her federal counterpart, Liberal premier Wynne has staked a lot on her big, expensive infrastructure improvement plan. The only problem is they don't know what shape their infrastructure is in, haven't been spending to keep it up, and are more interested in photo ops. They would rather smile for the camera while opening up something new, than pay for the routine maintenance of existing roads, hospitals and schools.“Currently, there is no consistency among ministries on how to measure the condition of various asset classes, such as highways, bridges, schools and hospitals,” says the report, released on Wednesday. This means there is “no reliable estimate of its infrastructure deficit – the investment needed to rehabilitate existing assets to an ‘acceptable’ condition – to better inform where spending should be directed,” the report says. But not to worry. Little things like plans and intelligent spending have never been part of the Liberal way. Big smiles for cameras while they 'generously' build a new school or open a new community centre is more the Liberal style.http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/ontario-has-no-reliable-estimate-of-infrastructure-deficit-ag/article27575206/ Quote "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley
