guyser Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 (edited) Of course, the anal will say the judge doesn't let people out of jail, while the practical will point out that judges who routinely hand out slaps on the wrist might as well be doing so. One who understands the system would not be anal, ergo he would understand that judges don't let people out, parole boards do,or the person has served their time. A light sentence is not letting out....you might make a case of letting off easy , but that would require english language knowledge, and it seems in short supply for a couple of people. ETA, a judge can overturn, or stay, or reduce a sentence, so in that light one might say they do. But those are specific . Edited August 18, 2011 by guyser Quote
