Keepitsimple Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) Now they need to cut into the Tory support. Thus far they're just sucking the blood out of the NDP. That's what makes things so interesting. As the Liberals veer evermore to the Left (Childcare, talk of National Housing, CPP, Homecare) to suck those NDP votes, they risk bleeding real political-center voters to the Conservatives. While it may increase the Liberals share of the votes, it may also push the Conservatives over that magic 40% mark. Leftist policies will not win over Conservative voters. The problem is that some percentage of those Tory numbers are not conservative voters. Quote
dean Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Not the way things are going right now. Even the National Post is saying Ignatieff has all the momentum. http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2011/03/31/john-ivison-ignatieff-ditches-%E2%80%98uptight%E2%80%99-image-for-campaign/ Obviously we tend to view things the way we want them to be... eg once a liberal always a liberal. It's not difficult to understand this rather , emotional response things...however no matter what we 'think' in the end reality rules... and reality in a federal election is in the numbers... and the numbers all show the conservatives increasing their lead. The numbers show this in every poll today. respectfully Dean Quote
