Bonam
You find this surprising? Of course he's allowed to stay. That's how our system works. It is Canada after all.

Canadian politicians and judges loves those kind of people. http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2011/02/10/17229416.htmlMasked migrant to stay in Canada By BOB MACKIN, QMI Agency Last Updated: February 10, 2011 7:36pm VANCOUVER — The young Chinese man who disguised himself as an elderly Caucasian to sneak into Canada was ordered released from a B.C. jail Thursday by the Immigration and Refugee Board. He could arrive in Toronto as soon as this weekend. Adjudicator Anita Merai-Schwartz ruled the man, whose name is protected by a publication ban, could be freed on a $5,000 bond to be paid by a friend of the man’s father, nicknamed "Uncle." Merai-Schwartz called him "a young man completely out of his element" after living his whole life in a rural community in southeastern China. His family paid the equivalent of $30,000 to have him smuggled to Canada, via Hong Kong. The case gained worldwide attention when an elderly white man on an Air Canada flight to Vancouver was revealed to be a young Chinese man. Eight people connected to the case, including some Hong Kong International Airport employees, were arrested in Hong Kong in January. In his testimony, the man admitted he lied about his education and occupation to Canada Border Services Agency officers upon arrival because “snakeheads” told him to. “In admitting to some falsehoods during your testimony in this hearing, this is an indication that the influence of the smugglers has diminished," said Merai-Schwartz. "You admitted quite frankly you followed instructions at the time because you were scared.” [email protected]
