pfezziwig Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) The world juniors was decided in dramatic fashion last night when Russia stormed back with 5 third period goals for a 5-3 win. How did they do it, in the third period their whole team were faster and stronger that the whole canadian team after being dominated the first 2 periods. Am I paranoid, it all most looked like they were all suddenly juiced up on something, or did the whole Canadian team mysteriously all run out of gas and make the russians look that much better? With eastern europe's and russia's track record on doping I wouldn't put it by them to add something to their water bottles that current doping tests could not discover. Those 2 goals in 11 seconds changed the momentum of the game, and after that Canada was just gripping its sticks too tightly and Russia got a pile of confidence. This isnt actually that unusual. Momentum is huge in hockey and it produces some incredible results. 11 straight OT victories for the Habs in 93, or Vancouvers comeback from 3-1 to beat the flames in 94 come to mind. Team sports are heavily phsycological and confidence is everything. Team Canada lost theirs after those two early first period goals. Quote I question things because I am human.
