maplesyrup Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Harper platform promises sweeping change "All of this suggests a really quite firmly fixed ideology when you look at it," says political scientist Sid Noel of the University of Western Ontario. "The best place to look for a model for how Canada would be governed is Ontario under Mike Harris."Mr. Harris promised and delivered a Common Sense Revolution, with steep cuts to taxes and government programs. Similarly, the program Mr. Harper has laid out over the past two weeks calls for a flurry of activity in the new government, and then slowly but inevitably, more profound changes. I am sure there is some support for these ideas in Canada. How much support, that I don't know. But is is incombent on all parties to state clearly what they represent and what their plans are. Then Canadians can make an educated decision on June 28th. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Anatole France
