And what are the policies and programs that have resulted from your perceived "abuses of aligned politics and science" that we must fear? Politicians will do nothing? Is that what we have to fear? It exists only in your mind that they are "using or abusing" science to promote anything political. If they were suggesting laws be enacted to stifle discussion of AGW I might suspect them of some political interference but, if I am not mistaken, I think the attempt to shut down debate is originating from your side of the political fence.

is there a problem? I was agreeing with your assertion linking political will to distortions or abuses of science... I referenced a case in point (perhaps you didn't care for it). I also asked you, "were there particular distortions or abuses of science you wished to discuss - or is this just another example of Plinyspeak?" Well... are there? Equally, if you're going to suggest/claim a politically inspired drive to shut down debate (from, as you state, "my side" of the political fence), don't leave us hanging with vague generalities (Plinyspeak)... isn't there... more?
