I bet you the average suicide bomber doesnt even make 1000 bux a year US.

1. He does not need to - he survives very nicely on what he makes - it is all relative

2. His surviving family will be richly rewarded

3. The dead bomber will be enjoying virgins in heaven for the remainder of his eternal life and he is looking forward to it

Question I have never had answered - I always wondered if a female bomber got to do the same with males in heaven? LOL

Interesting fact - when you clean up after a bomber - the head and feet of the bomber are usually in pretty decent condition - not always, but often.

Conservative Christians live in countries that have ALREADY marginalized religion. Thats the whole point. Any by marginalize I dont mean we should stop them from worshipping whatever version of the sky-god myth they happen to subscribe to... I mean we should make sure that they have no role as a civil authority. The problem in a lot of these muslim countries is that the church and the government are basically the same bunch of people.

You're still ignoring the difference between mainstream Christianity which has liberalized itself over centuries and mainstream Islam, which seems to be reverting itself into a more fundamentalist flavour. If Islam was on a path towards liberalizing itself, it's be headed in the right direction. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

But Muslims are in the west too. I had Muslim friends whose lives were pretty much identical to mine.

Also, wasn't the family in your example in Somalia ?

Yes and no, they were from Somalia and then became refugees (on welfare) in the UK.

Perhaps you know Muslims in the West, but do you know their minds? Do you live with them? I know Muslims to chat with but do I know how they behave among themselves, what they think privately, how their belief in God influences their decisions and thinking? Nope.

The polls taken of attitudes among Canadian and UK Muslims appear to show they are less religiously inclined than Muslims in Muslim countries, but even so up to 40% of the Muslims in the UK and Canada favour Sharia law to some degree, and that's a telling statistic.

The only point I'm making is that Christianity, to most of us, even those of us who actually go to Church, is something you don't often think about. But Islam is something you think about constantly. Hell, even a century ago Catholics didn't stop all work to get down on their knees and pray five times a day. But that appears to be routine among Muslims.

Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choices.

If any of you are interested in reading this book, send me a PM. It's a pretty short book and it's a very easy read. Very intense.

Here's a link to its Amazon.com advertisement.

I'm reading the book now. As you said, it's very good; it's hard to put down. Sure makes one realize what horrible things people do to other people, and all too easily, it would seem.

It certainly is tragic the the USA is trying to deport this guy after rejecting his request for political asylum. If he is deported, he will certainly return to Israel as his life would be threatened in the Palestinian territories.

Good news. He's been granted asylum. :)

A California court ruled on Wednesday that Masab Hassan Yousef will not be deported from the United States.

Over a year ago, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ruled that Mosab Hassan Yousef should be denied asylum because he has “engaged” in terrorist activity” and is a “danger to the security of the United States.”

On Wednesday, however, Homeland Security officials indicated they were prepared to grant Yousef asylum, taking back their initial intention, after claiming to have received new information which brought a new view on the case. Son of Hamas Granted Asylum from U.S. Court
