dre Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 The latter is absurd, the former not necessary if Parliament decides that not every member has to see them. This is no different than how Parliament has functioned under other crises and periods of war. Do you think that ever British, Canadian, Australian, New Zealander, Jamaican, etc. MP was getting access to Cabinet-level documents during WWII? Why is the latter absurd? If making the documents public wont compromise our security that what possible grounds does the government have to keep the from us? They are articles of the publics business. ToadBrother Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 Why is the latter absurd? If making the documents public wont compromise our security that what possible grounds does the government have to keep the from us? They are articles of the publics business. They have already released a raft of documents, though censored, enough. We'll never see the whole show, not in our lifetimes, unless some of us end up being very old. What counts is that Parliament, not the Government, has ultimately decided how to deal with the documents. Quote
