capricorn Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 From Smallc's link: In an interview with The Canadian Press over the weekend, Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff said he would be prepared to lead a coalition after the election, but appeared to rule out any agreement to form a new party with the NDP."The talk of merger is absurd," Ignatieff said. This time, I think he means what he says. I doubt he wants to go down in history as the Liberal leader who oversaw the dismantling of a once proud Liberal party. Ignatieff is a good man but he's way over his head in what can only be termed political warfare. It's a pretty sure bet Ignatieff has dusted off his suitcases and keeps them close at hand. Oh how he must miss the relative calm of the classroom. The Liberal party is so fractured and at war with itself, it will now be easier for me to continue to vote for the Conservatives. They may not be perfect, but at least they try their best at working as a team and don't take potshots at each other while lobbing s*it balls across the Commons floor. I'm not saying uniting the left and the centre left would be a bad thing for Canada. Personally, I like the idea of a two party system. A new Liberal Democrat party as proposed by some Liberal and NDP insiders would be a step in that direction. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." dre Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I dont even really care about which party wins anymore. We dont really have ANY decent parties in Canadian politics meaning we will likely see 15 or 20 years of minority government. And as long as we have minority government whichever bunch of tards blunders their way into power will have to at least come close to behaving themselves. Quote I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger
