Republicans back peddle their budget

On MSNBC this afternoon, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)--the ranking member on the House Budget Committee--repeated a claim he made to me and other reporters: that his so-called fiscal roadmap is not the same as the Republican budget. His plan, he says, is "very different from an actual budget." That's technically correct, but also terribly misleading.

Bring up the same tired ideas of privatizing social security and Medicare the Republicans have already played to their base and start to back peddle these ideas.
