ToadBrother Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Seems our Minister of Public Safety, to justify increasing police powers, and further erode judicial oversight, outright lied. He claimed that a kidnapping case in Vancouver earlier this year showed the problems, claiming the police had to wait 36 hours to get a warrant so they could go to an ISP to get a customer name and address. Except, of course, that the cops didn't, and didn't in fact use the Internet at all. http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/4424/135/ Quote

jdobbin Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Who the heck is Michael Geist. Do you have a link to an actual media story? He is a university professor and copyright expert responsible for torpedoing Harper's last effort on copyright law. He found out they plagiarized a lot of the info from U.S. sources. Quote
