No one is scared here Dobbin, we have been in the wilderness, we have brought down the government on real issues only to reward the Liberals in the past, I don't think anyone in our party is scare of losing. If we were we would be Liberals.

They are terrified out of their minds. That is why you and other NDPers are acting out. It is sheer terror.

I find it funny though that you have resorted to the "CHICKEN Buck Buck Buck CHICKEN" thing after you leaders have spent the last three years running from issue to issue. Ironic.

The NDP don't really want an election every month. But they sure enjoy acting like they do.

It is like Liberals don't even know their own history. This is just what you guys did when Joe Clark won in 79 Dobbin. You said "You don't get to push stuff through with out our approval" We had an election at the end of may in 79 then the Liberals called another one 5 months later and the house didn't even sit that summer so it was like 2 months later.

I get it you have support your leader's decision but when you say "We just had an election we would never go to another one because it wasn't that long ago, DO YOU WANT ONE EVERY MONTH?" This is what you did this is what Pierre Trudeau did he said "You don't get to govern like you have a majority when you don't have one, we will have another election to prove that" I wish the rest of the Liberal party would grow a spine and the Liberals from the 70's would come back. Maybe then it wouldn't just be the NDP and Bloc telling the Cons they are in a minority government.

As I said: scared NDP.
I don't see the NDP in any position they haven't had to deal with throughout their entire CCF/NDP existence.

The facts are that the Liberals were scared under Dion to have an election, were scared under Ignatieff to call the CPC to the carpet in January 2009 and quite frankly, got scared in June, and appear to be waffling and scared of election now.

Eventually, this will have to end. None of which changes the circumstances or electoral opportunities of failures for the NDP.

Infact what is interesting is the amount of attention the NDP has been receiving as of late, but really its not coming from media, its coming from pundits, and most interesting hardcore Liberal Pundits.

They NDP could do well to receive the coverage in the media as seen on MLW.

I see two scared NDPers knowing the Liberals will be coming after them strongly.

No doubt this will be a Liberal NDP battle, and this should come as no surprise.....

And so a western alienation became inflamed when once again Ontario and Quebec pushed the Tories out. Remember?

Canadians are already becoming fed up with repeated elections.

The NDP like to play it both ways by saying they will vote no confidence while blaming the Liberals for any resulting election. All the parties have been playing that.

They all hope it is the Liberals that get tagged with the anger such as it was in the 1970s and 1980s.

Anger was long ago replaced by Apathy. There is no voter revolt on the horizon. Just less participation.

I don't think we can quite compare the current minority situation to the political environment of the 70's. The circumstances surrounding the Joe Clark minority were vastly different and let's be honest the liberals had a fresh petro tax to campaign against. The charismatic and vastly popular Trudeau was a shoe in. Canada quickly went from majority to minority back to majority.

We're talking about 3 successive minority governments and already 3 elections in the last 4 years which will very likely turn to 4 come fall. This is unprecedented in Canadian history. People are tired of elections and as it stands now were in for yet another minority as per the polls. The CPC will lose ground to the opposition parties but in all likelihood were in for another CPC minority, possibly an LPC minority depending on the campaign. We’re currently in a holding pattern and until it breaks we will be seeing a lot more political maneuvering by all parties.

It’s quite easy for the NDP and the BLOC to criticize the LPC on voting with the CPC as they’re in a very safe position. They can safely vote against the CPC on every single bill they propose and not have to deal with the consequences of that. The LPC does, and if they hope to gain ground or form the government they need another issue, like the golden egg of a gas tax Clark proposed to gain ground.

It’s all well and good to stand on “principle” when your vote in the commons doesn’t make the difference between triggering an election or not. The LPC and the CPC are the contenders to form the government. Both are treading carefully, and neither wants to make a misstep at this juncture, the polls are too tight for either to screw up as it would inevitably mean their defeat. Both are trying to buy time and make sure the election comes at their highest political advantage. For the LPC this will mean fall, for the CPC it would mean winter or early spring.

Follow the man who seeks the truth; run from the man who has found it.

Exactly.

And given that the Liberals are not about to let Harper call a snap election after the Olympics, it is coming soon.

Liberals have nominations meetings all this week and most candidates do not want to wait long as happened last time. Some have quit their jobs to start campaigning.

I figure if Ignatieff is one of the people leaning toward election, an election is coming.

Many who do vote are angry.
