Topaz Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Are journalists leaking data while under lock or is it someone else in the government? Someone could be making profits financially, if they know what Flaherty is going to announce. Remember when the Tories accused Goodale of that and it turned out NOT to be true, well here we go again. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/090523/...an_leak_mystery Quote
Bryan Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) Remember when the Tories accused Goodale of that and it turned out NOT to be true It did not turn out not to be true. The finance department DID leak info, and people went to jail over it. There was not enough evidence against Goodale himself to charge him, but Serge Nadeau from the finance department was criminally charged. In this instance though, I think anyone who has been paying attention can see that the worst is over, and the markets have been increasing with random mini-spikes for a few months already. I doubt there is a connection to Flaherty's announcement. Still, there COULD be career civil servants in that department who are making under the table deals regardless of who is in power. Could even be the same people from under Goodale's tenure that the RCMP just never had enough evidence against. Edited May 23, 2009 by Bryan Quote
