Rep. Spencer Bachus, the top Republican on the Financial Services Committee, told a hometown crowd in Alabama today he believes there are several socialists in the House.

Actually, he says there are exactly 17 socialists in the House of Representatives. according to the Birmingham News:

But he said he is worried that he is being steered too far by the Congress: "Some of the men and women I work with in Congress are socialists."

Asked to clarify his comments after the breakfast speech at the Trussville Civic Center, Bachus said 17 members of the U.S. House are socialists.

It looks like some more Republicans aside from Rove keep lists.

What next? The House of Un-American Activities? Blackballs. Arrests?

Only 17? They have all adopted some concepts of socialist ideology. Good Gravy, just look at their tax code! Does he mean there are 17 socialists that would institute the total State?

Socialism is a means to an end - the end being a state run economy and the entire society. It is a process. It begins when government grants favour to one group over another. Instituting the central bank and granting it monopoly was the first major socialist action. Governments in granting favour and privilege create inequalities in justice and injustices are ok in their eyes if done in the name of economic equality. The very organism entrusted with justice becomes unjust when creating equality. Certainly, equality in justice for every human being is to be expected today and governments of the past in not recognizing full citizenship status to certain groups was wrong. It wasn't just, and the lie that certain races or the female gender was not equal in matters of justice and treatment was perpetuated by law. Those laws should and are being changed. All citizens of a government should be treated equally which is where the term "blind justice" originates. It must not see rich and poor, black or white, male or female nor make laws favoring one over another. We have not won the battle for justice on any of these fronts. They had only to cancel unjust laws to bring about an evolution toward equality. They did cancel old laws but then made the mistake of making new laws and throwing the balance of justice the other way.

The ERA, Affirmative action, all unnecessary and unjust legislation favouring one group over another.

There were signs of "whites only" or "blacks must sit in the back of the bus" because there were laws about them. Women couldn't own property because there were laws against it. In other words it wasn't people that perpetuated these inequalities but government. The favoured class, who sit in government, of course never complain about unjust laws because they are always in their favour. Injustices must not occur from government, the organization with the mandate to provide justice. Therefore it cannot be the engineer of society, or the economy. It must remain neutral to deliver justice and cannot determine justice when it itself is unjust.

I want to be in the class that ensures the classless society remains classless.
