jdobbin
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories In a report issued Tuesday afternoon, Sheila Fraser warned that Transport Canada and the RCMP are both withholding information from one another, which compromises the security of Canada's airports."Transport Canada issues these clearances to people to work in restricted areas of airports, and is mainly concerned about security to planes and passengers, to threats to planes and passengers," Fraser told CTV's Power Play. I think that many people who travel in Canada have come into contact with the criminal element that pervades airports like Toronto. They pose a major security rick as well and the government has not done enough to stop people with criminal records from repeatedly getting into areas where they can do a lot of harm. Argus
Wow... thats pretty unbelievable. A minister actually going to check for himself instead of relying on reassurances from his mandarins? Yes, that is more than a touch unusual. I bet his mandarins aren't very happy. I'm reminded of an episode of "Yes, Minister" the British comedy, where the senior mandarins were upset when the minister actually escaped them and wandered through the building to talk to people without their "guidance".
