Flaherty won't rule out a deficit

Last Updated: Sunday, October 26, 2008

Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said Sunday he could not safely predict that the federal government will stay in the black.

Asked about the possibility of a deficit, he told CBC News: "We will see. I would not categorically rule out a deficit," adding that with five months remaining in the fiscal year, the government will be watching the situation closely.

Given his spending habits, I expect that Flaherty will definitely run a deficit. He might try to hide in till next year though.

Yep the Tories should never run a deficit but the Ontario Liberals can and everyone's happy.

Good thing you aint partasin..

Think I have been clear I think Ontario running a deficit is bad for the country. Good thing I'm not partisan when it comes to deficit spending.
