Slim MacSquinty Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 We all have alot to be thankful for, a free and democratic society (more than half the world doesn't) a very good standard of living, superior opportunities in education and business (for both sexes) decent health care, good infrastructure and the ability to argue about all the silly things we do here. Hope you all get to spend time with your families to enjoy a good meal and ponder the coming election, please don't fight about it though, the best thing about political arguements is that at least the arguers give a damn enough to have an opinion, without that there would be little point. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! mmmmm turkey. Quote
Guest American Woman Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Happy Thanksgiving to our good neighbors to the North! And while you're giving thanks for all the things Slim MacSquinty mentioned, don't forget to also give thanks for your neighbors to the South. Hope you all have a great holiday weekend! Bryan Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Even this election makes me thankful. Thankful that we live in a country where we have the ability to make such choices as so many do not. But also thankful that no matter what side of political spectrum you're on, even your least favorite option is still a pretty darn good one compared to just about any other country on earth. Quote
capricorn Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 There is no other country on earth that compares to our country. I count my blessings that I was fortunate enough to be born here. I thank all those that came before me to forge Canada into a great country. I owe a debt of gratitude to the brave men and women who fought and died defending our freedom in past and present wars. My thoughts are with our troops serving around the world, who stand on guard for Canada. As I am a partisan Conservative supporter, not only will I celebrate Thanksgiving, but I will also celebrate Valentine's day on Tuesday because my leader referred to voting day as February 14. Happy Valentine's Thanksgiving day to all. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
