It amazes me how many people are blaming the CPC for the current financial problems. Markets ALL over the world are be hit, yet many people want to blame PM Harper. How ridiculous is that? Tokyo stock market falters - Harper's fault. Hong Kong stock market falters - Harper's fault.

With the left - biased media, it amazes me how many Canadians believe everything they hear. If Canadians think times are tough now, wait until Dion imposes his carbon tax. Then you'll see prices on EVRYTHING increase.

Farmers will be hit the hardest by a carbon tax - fuel, fertilizer etc. Dion and the meida (CBC) has fooled people into believing that a carbon tax will be revenue neutral. My suggestion is do some in depth research and you'll realize that revenue neutral will be the last thing you experience with a carbon tax.

People don't really understand financial systems and markets. All they understand is there's some big amorphous crisis, and their stocks are plunging in value. It's scary to look at your savings, which it's taken you years to build up, and see them down thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars, especially if you're older. But there really is virtually nothing a Canadian government can do.

To put things at their most basic - stocks move up and down in value because of the anticipation of what profits companies will be earning in the future, not what they're doing right now. There is no financial crisis in Canada. Our stock markets are plunging mainly because commodities, such as iron, nickel, pulp and paper, potash, etc., and especially oil, are plunging in price. They're plunging in price because of the anticipation that there will be less demand for them in the US and other nations due to the financial crisis. So in essence, our markets are being affected through the back door. Our financial systems are quite sound, but people don't seem to be getting that. I think the price falls in stocks are already way overblown even if the US and world slowdown comes into effect. And what we're seeing now is wild selling driven by fear and ignorance. The only thing the government can do about that is try to assuage that fear.

I blame him for destroying all the program that allowed Canada to grow our economy, which is the Tourism industry, which because of all the jobs it includes, fed 3/4 of the population year around before he moved in as PM, now this does not even have a Minister do not ask me where the portfolio went, and destroying all the programs provided by Human Resources, which includes re-training programs, Unemployment programs, education for our people with disabilities, and youth training, and that was the main portion of his cuts-about $152 Million.

What about Forestry and Manufacturing industry, these jobs are also moving away; what about Agriculture, (if our government is our representative) are we still helping our farmer in tough times? or Did Harper cut that too?

Wouldn't you like to know, so would I?

How about the "lack of transparencies and accountability"? The Military Report pointed to it adding, and I agree with it "Canadian deserve better" as it clearly stated.

So 107,000 new jobs were added in September, a record for any month since StatsCan began reporting.

I'd say this is rather good, particularly given the current state of the economoy, no?

It amazes me that CPC people also do not tell us that it was our strong banking rules that have protected us so far. Who put those rules in Place, the former gov'ts mostly Liberal and what would Harper have changed if he had the power? He would have cut all the rules, privitized the Central Bank which CPC consider socialist and we would have been in the same Mess as the US. Remember Harper is or would like to have been Bush's lap dog

I blame him for destroying all the program that allowed Canada to grow our economy,

Name all these "program".

which is the Tourism industry, which because of all the jobs it includes, fed 3/4 of the population year around before he moved in as PM

I think you have a wildly overblown estimate of the value of the tourism sector. Three quarters of the population? Not hardly. In any event, the problems in the tourism sector are well understood by almost everyone. And they relate to the Canadian dollar rising by about 45 cents over the past few years, thus making everything far more expensive for American tourists. Another major factor is the problems of getting through the border. Americans used to be able to take quick jaunts across the border for an evening in Toronto. Now it can hours to get through the border - both ways. Not many people want to go through that for a dinner and play.

What about Forestry and Manufacturing industry, these jobs are also moving away; what about Agriculture, (if our government is our representative) are we still helping our farmer in tough times? or Did Harper cut that too?

Same sort of thing. The rise of the dollar has made our products more expensive. And the value of products abroad is based on a variety of factors. If the world price of wheat falls, it's not Harper's fault. And yes, there are lots of farm support programs. I don't believe he has touched them.

How about the "lack of transparencies and accountability"? The Military Report pointed to it adding, and I agree with it "Canadian deserve better" as it clearly stated.

No it stated no such thing, which you would know if you'd read it or even a summary. You're simply repeating what the opposition have said. The report basically pegged the current cost at between $7-$10 billion. The Tories have said it was about $8 billion, so they're certainly in the neighborhood. The report added in some other things like long term health care for soldiers, and the purchase of helicopters and other equipment, and carried costs into the future. That's all.

Not to let facts get in your way, but Harper's government introduced MORE regulation on the financial industry this spring. 40 some odd to be more exact. Does that change your mind? Of course not. He did have the power and he chose to increase regulation to make our financial system more safe and it is paying big dividends now.

Aww.. Bush's lapdog. how quaint and original. What oh what will you people do come January?

Those Dern Rednecks done outfoxed the left wing again.
