DrGreenthumb Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I was thinking of videotaping the all candidates debate in my area, and was wondering if there is any law that could prevent me from videotaping in a public forum. I actually heard the conservative candidate has vowed not to take part if videocameras are allowed in. I want to ask him on camera if it was a deliberate conservative strategy to withhold their platform until after the debates to avoid being asked unscripted questions about their proposed policies. Might make a funny u-tube video. If he does refuse to take part if its on video, even getting THAT on tape will speak volumes. I intend to make sure he gets asked all the controversial questions if he does take part, including his opinion on the in and out scheme which he took part in himself. Quote
independent Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) You are lucky the conservative in our area will not even take part in a debate. Edited October 5, 2008 by Charles Anthony deleted re-quoted Opening Post Quote

segnosaur Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 This is something that several Cons are doing, most notably Diane Finley who seems to be on her way out anyway... Hmmm... is this the Diane Finley you were talking about? http://www.simcoereformer.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1225367 A bitter battle between Liberal candidate Dr. Eric Hoskins and current MP Diane Finley over broken promises transpired at last night's all-candidates' debate. Note the part of the article which mentions all candidate's debate. So while it is true that there have been several scheduled debates where Finley has not attended, it doesn't mean she's totally ignored the process. Quote

As a rule you have to get consent. If you do not and then tape it and puts it on the net you could get sued. Quote
