Amazing Atheist Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 After 4 terms, 16 years Lorne Calvert and the NDP not only lost the election but allowed the Saskatchewan Party to win with a majority provincial government. I am now living in Winnipeg and will be moving back to my old stomping grounds soon come the spring. After years of Calvert of doing nothing for nobody it is refreshing to see change. The Saskatchewan Party will surely open up new investment opportunity for us business types as the Sask oil sands (bigger then Alberta's) open up among other natural resources that have yet to be tapped. Let's not forget their party colors are the same as the best CFL team The Saskatchewan Rough Riders. Quote
Cameron Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 There was an election in Saskatchewan? Quote Economic Left/Right: 3.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26 I want to earn money and keep the majority of it.
Amazing Atheist Posted November 8, 2007 Author Report Posted November 8, 2007 There was an election in Saskatchewan? Yeah the provincial election Quote
jdobbin Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 After 4 terms, 16 years Lorne Calvert and the NDP not only lost the election but allowed the Saskatchewan Party to win with a majority provincial government. I think it was Tommy Douglas who once said that a political party collects pebbles in a backpack during its tenure and eventually the weight becomes too much to carry. And so it went with the NDP in Saskatchewan. The desire for change became so great that it led to the Sask party victory. I don't know too much about the party but they sound like they moderated their policies and moved to the center. I don't think their election means that Sasktel is up for sale in 2008. Quote
geoffrey Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Great news for Saskatchewan. Hopefully you guys will quickly join us as the resource power that Calvert never would let you be! The oil doesn't end at the Alberta border. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --

daniel Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Wonder how soon the new government will take credit for the economy. Also wondering what else they will come up with if it's not going to be cutting budgets. Quote

If they improve the horrible economy of Saskatchewan they should.... I know I wouldn't want to take credit for Saskatchewan's current economy which drives away it's youth to other provinces in search of work. Quote
guyser Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 So in a nutshell , what does the Sask Party stand for? Left right centre...Lib PC? Quote
daniel Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 So in a nutshell , what does the Sask Party stand for? Left right centre...Lib PC? They are the refugees from the Devine government. Quote
Amazing Atheist Posted November 9, 2007 Author Report Posted November 9, 2007 So in a nutshell , what does the Sask Party stand for? Left right centre...Lib PC? They stand for Saskatchewan or at least that's what they say only time will tell but if I had to say which direction they lean towards it would be a little more to the right then left. The party was a creation of former left and right politicians from Saskatchewan. Quote
