  1. Well the truth is if you want to create a new political party come to the Centrist Party of Canada on facebook and you can talk to my friend. His name is Aaron Kennedy. We feel that since the Liberals and NDP were both centre-left in this election and the Conservatives were just talking about the economy and offering no moderate social safety net or a green economy and nothing about health or education then they were on the far-right. That leaves a huge middle and makes me wonder there is a huge gap in the centre which is up for grabs. I mean why not have a blue liberal/red tory party to bring in pro-business liberals, moderate conservatives, be for lower corporate taxes, low income taxes and for low small business taxes. Therefore the party would be liberal conservative in nature but be liberal on social issues. Therefore it links a strong business climate with social issues being liberal. I look forward to this since me and Aaron are trying to create that right now. The party would be centre to centre-right and claim an unknown part of the spectrum since the days of the Progressive Conservative party of Canada. Spread the word and help create the party. We are serious about having 308 candidates by the next election. The email for the party is [email protected] The site on facebook is: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/home.php?sk=group_34708647457&ap=1 Also spread the word and tell as many people as possible since we need 250 signatures, an auditor, an agent and 3 officers for the party. Contact Aaron Kennedy.
  2. The only way to fix our political system is to have a party of the radical centre which can take from both sides and is centre-right on certain issues and centre-left on others and is for restoring democracy and is centrist on social and economic issues therefore it is pragmatic on everything and does not have a firm platform on issues but instead does what is right. Therefore they are a new party for the 21st century. That is something which can break the deadlock between just Liberals and Conservatives and can create a new alternative. Check out Centrist Party on facebook. The site is http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages&tid=1445261230637#!/group.php?gid=34708647457 or the issues page on the main site is: http://centristparty.piczo.com/issues?cr=5
  3. i am raising awareness of a new political party between the liberals and conservatives at the federal level. we would be a moderate conservative party that would try to gain a lot of support from the two major parties. our address to view where we stand on the issues is: http://centristparty.piczo.com/issues?cr=5 and our main site is: http://centristparty.piczo.com/?g=1 If you have any more information you may contact us at [email protected] or if you know anyone you may let them know all this information. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Also to view our facebook page it is http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/group.php?gid=34708647457 so you may join if you wish. Thank you and I look forward to your comments.
  4. The truth is when the Canadian Alliance wanted to merge with the PC party the Canadian Alliance went around the laws of Elections Canada and merged the two parties without the consent of the members of the PC party. I know because I talked a little while ago with people in the old PC party at the federal level and they said all people who are part of the party have to agree before you can hand the party to anyone. Therefore, the Conservatives broke the rules there and the PC party should be around today. I saw videos on this site: http://davidorchard.com/online/2do-index.html on the section on the side called "Opposition to PC-CA Merger". There are videos on that section and they show what really happened and Peter MacKay going against the rules and going against the handshake and promise he made to David Orchard. Thank you!
  5. The Conservatives never take responsibility for anything and you will see their chances of winning a majority go out the window. Now the Liberals and Conservatives will be seen as being two corrupt parties and will leave the NDP as the only party left to be considered as a positive party which can get into power. I mean the Liberals gave the Conservatives the great financial record and the Conservatives simply claimed it and said they made sure Canada was on good fiscal footing. The Conservatives party also in the past while since this issue came up has been wanting to drag down the other parties with this issue and they are the only ones who claim ownership of it and should as an honorable party lay out for all people to see what exactly went on and make sure a public inquiry happen so the truth can shed light into this affair. Finally, the undecided numbers will really get high since about 6% the people who voted for the Conservatives who switched from the Liberals before may just stay home or go to the Greens I hope! Also, this could prove to be a period when minorities continuously happen until something dramatic happens like a change in leadership for one of the two major parties or both and our voter turnout for elections will continue to go down because of this pitiful display of hiding the truth and deflecting questions and corruption from the two major parties. Thank you!
  6. The recent attack ads from all the parties show that parties are just jockeying for position but to tell you the truth vague sloganeering is something Canadians are getting used to with the dumbing down of parliament. I feel attack ads must be banned, all information must be disclosed on costs, MP and senator expenses, and all projects on the economy and every issue must be laid out for the Canadian people to see online and when they come out they must be posted in all newspapers. It may be bad for the government of the day but we need to have efficient government which works for all Canadians and a moderate conservative party between the two parties can achieve that by having all parties work together and find out ways to protect the most vulnerable and poor and health and education programs and have guarantees to ensure those programs get protected and make sure we have a balanced budget and a debt and deficit that are taken care of while making sure our economy remains strong. We just need to ensure that our priorities are taken care of and the waste in government is taken care of. Some areas we in the Centrist Party of Canada can be to freeze salaries permanently on MPs, senators. We can make sure expenses are posted and MPs and senators spend their money on important things which can be debated and photo ops and other useless expenses can be gotten rid of permanently. As a party we would also ensure that we work on important issues such as law and order and make sure all parties sit to resolve this crucial issue which should not be partisan since it affects us all and I feel this is one where we need to have true balance to protect our streets and to rehabilitate citizens. Also we need to reform the Senate and the House of Commons to reflect and improve the standings for smaller parties and we need to have a prop rep system for the house and senate based on how much the percentage is for each party in the House of Commons. This means if a party receives 36% of the vote they will receive 36% of the seats and must form coalitions with other parties to hold government and there will need to be a middle grounds and compromise council to ensure all parties in the coalition get the middle ground on each issue. No party can declare confidence motions or omnibus bills on any issue and all issues must be done in good faith and middle grounds and compromise must become the new normal. Also, the Senate will be done the same way which means if a party does not get a full majority they must form coalitions with the other parties and achieve middle grounds and compromises on the issues of the day just like the House of Commons. We felt this is a good approach since we can show Canadians parties working together in the best interest of Canadians and we feel by doing this more Canadians will come out and vote. We must be positive and genuine when working for Canadians. We are also sure that a moderate conservative option would be way more successful than the options we have now since we are positive and we feel Canadians are genuinely good and seek to differentiate ourselves from our neighbors to the south. Lastly, to see when we stand as a party you may check out our issues page for additional information. The site is located here: http://centristparty.piczo.com/issues?cr=5 or if you want the pdf document showing the issues you may send it to [email protected] to find out more about the party or if you have questions about the party. Thank you and I look forward to your replies.
  7. Conservatives were elected in 2006 to clean up corruption and Canadians are about to find out Conservatives are no different from Liberals we need a party committed to essential programs like health care and education always being protected, making sure foreign policy and law and order are balanced and this party between the two parties would want to ensure that the economy is closer to being balanced which means tax cuts are targeted and studied to show what the affects really are and we need a manufacturing sector which is invested in and helps as a buffer for the middle class. We also need to have a balanced environmental program which does not get its ideas from Washington but is studied and works to lower carbon emissions. That is how you build a strong moderate conservative party one that is for balancing fiscal responsibility, taxes and social progress. This is also a way to ensure we get a hold on our debt and deficit. Check out our issues page to find out where we stand: http://centristparty.piczo.com/issues?cr=5 or email us which is on the main page: http://centristparty.piczo.com/?g=1&cr=5 at the bottom of the page if you want the document about the party.
  8. I want to use this message to inform those who think my party could create a better moderate conservative option for Canadians one that is compassionate conservative and wants to govern in the tradition of the old Progressive Conservative party I would encourage those who like thoughtful discussion to comment about what I wrote. Also, since me and the members of the party have completed a document outlining where we stand on all the issues those who are interested may ask for one and I will send you a copy just make sure you reach me at [email protected] or you may comment on this thread if you wish to ask for one here. Also you can read also similar information like what is shown in the pdf document we created about where the party stands on all the issues at this site: http://centristparty.piczo.com/issues?cr=5 Thank you and I look forward to a thoughtful reply. I have gotten some comments about what I wrote about Christian Democracy being a possibly of this party I hope to create and the party centering around communitarianism like many centrist European parties and I feel we could go down that road since we want to provide a niche for people seeking a party between the two major parties. We want a party centered around social progressive and fiscally conservative values and a party which uses small businness tax cuts as its main mean to create jobs and we are also for protecting the manufacturing sector like Christian Democratic parties so it could work. Anyways, to read about the party again check out http://centristparty.piczo.com/issues?cr=5 or email me at [email protected] if you wish to receive a copy of where we stand on all the issues. Thank you and I hope to get a reply from you soon.
  9. Anyone here remember Joe Clark yes his type of conservatism is what we are after. If you want proof there is no ideology in Canada that has liberal conservatism. Research Centrist Democrat International and you will see the countries and notice Canada has no international organization with that name representing any of the parties. We are seeking the middle ground and notice the ideological trend of all the parties and the direction we are headed by following them. Check out wikipedia on "Centrist Democrat International", this other term "liberal conservatism", "one nation conservatism", " neoliberalism", "centrism", "right-centrism", "social conservatism", "traditionalist conservatism", "communitarianism", "conservative liberalism" and "social progressivism". I would like you to check out all the ideologies on wikipedia since that is the direction we are going to go down in terms of a party. We are between the two parties economically, we are closer to the liberals on social policy, we are close to the greens on democracy, all parties are essentially equal on health and education, we are close to the liberals on poverty, we are close to the conservatives on law and order and socially conservative issues, we are balanced on foreign policy and we want a moderate environmental policy so we really copy no one there and we make sure constituents are heard and given a true voice on issues where there are free votes and private member's bills. Lastly, if you check out the Centrist Democrat International page on wikipedia the party's ideologies will be remarkably close to that of the French and British conservative parties but a bit more communitarian. Thank you for your time.
  10. anyone want to know what we stand for well email me at [email protected] and get in touch our pdf file containing all party info about where we stand is almost done. I look forward to it so people can stop asking questions about where we stand as a party and we can just provide what is necessary on each of the issues. Remember so it is next week when the pdf document should be done for the party but it cannot be posted on the site since it does not contain the aspects necessary to download files onto it. i would know i am an expert html/xhtml programmer. The site of the party is http://www.centristparty.piczo.com/?cr=5 Thank you!
  11. Well I have friends now in the party who want a new alternatives and they are from Newfoundland and Nova Scotia and the target is always to have at least one seat and concentrate on the areas where we have the best growth potentials. The party just wants to follow the old PC party so if you have questions about why create the party I was once with the PC party and they are so weak now it may fizzle out and the United Party is now following the path of being a centrist party so they are another liberal party. Compromising the two and meeting in the centre with a new party is the right strategy. If you don't propose a party that is compassionate conservative like the old PC party you are wasting time that is what I figure and what people in the party want.
  12. We want to be strong like the Greens on democracy so not everything is taken from the two parties. We want a moderate environment program like a cap and trade system and putting a price on carbon. Even the Tory Party in Britain is going down that road and we think our party has to be modeled after theirs. In terms of poverty we are similar to the Liberals in that action must be taken and must be done with respect to the deficit. I looked at Joe Clark's 2000 proposals when he was running to be prime minister. I understand what it means to be a compassionate conservative and understanding that you can mix tax cuts to stimulate growth with protecting the manufacturing sector and making sure that social programs are protected. The PCs made it work and we think we could do the same. We understand the Greens have proposed similar programs but the thing is not everything has to be between the two parties. On the democracy thing we wanted to have prop rep for the House and Senate. We also want to have a policy of middle grounds and compromise. We want to ensure voter intention goes up so it is outside the norm of where the two parties stand. On law and order and the military we are close to the conservatives but on health and education we think all parties want to see action on it and we want to protect those programs and ensure they never get touched. Therefore we have taken centrist positions on all these issues which I have stated so we can make it work. Thank you and I look forward to comments about what I wrote. I look forward to it.
  13. Well you can't call a party that wants to stand up for constituents or centrists, moderates, conservatives and progressives a party that is fringe or people who are on extreme parts of the spectrum but we just need to find the right people in order to grow and the best way to do that is to also listen to Canadians and see what they want in a new political party between the two major parties. That is how you get to be something as big as the Reform party was in the early 90s. Remember there is no liberal conservative party in Canada at the present time and this country has no political party currently for centrist international. This moderate conservative party's ideologies would be centrist, liberal conservative, one nation conservative, neoliberal and socially conservative and for conservative liberalism. We want this party to be in the British tory tradition. That is something this country does not have as ideologies representing the middle between the two major parties. We just have a progressive liberal party who is centre-left and a conservative party that is centre-right to right and their ideologies are social conservatism, neoconservatism, neoliberalism, conservative liberalism, and christian right. We want to be centre to centre-right like the old PC party and we want to be right centrists just like the liberals are left-centrists which since we are right-centrists that would place us between the two major parties. Speaking of which, I have Mel Hurtig as a friend on facebook. If you have anymore info about the party check out the site http://www.centristparty.piczo.com/?cr=5 and if you wish to find out more info email us at [email protected]. Thank you!
  14. Which is exactly why I believe this party needs to move in the same direction as the government on law and order issues but be compassionate conservatives on social issues. That is what Canadians truly need. We also believe small business is the engine of the economy and that is where I believe a party needs to go to get a lot of support. Also, we think having free votes and standing up for constituents will win us a lot of votes and that is something all the parties could lose a lot of support on. Remember all the parties on private members' bills just whip the votes but actually listening to constituents on the long gun registry, marijuana, military spending on big ticket items and other issues is the direction a party should pursue and we found a good balance as a centrist party. We just won't engage in the kind of Harper populism he likes to do.
  15. Hey Toadbrother long time no see. Anyways, I heard Sir John A. was a drunk but to go past his bad side I think we ought to think about the actual party which wanted to build a society that was fair and just for all. Also, since the last time I saw you I have gotten a lot of people together and the only thing we need to finish off is just the 250 electors/members. To let those of you who do not know who I am I once brought up a story about the Centrist Party but that was in late 2009. Anyways, I just want to see if there are those who want to help build a strong third option for Canada. All info is on the site: http://www.centristparty.piczo.com/?cr=5 and the email is on the main page if you wish to contact and find more about the party.
