  1. Not right. You are only buying to protect your own interests/investments . No one else , under no fault insurance, is covered by your policy. (some exceptions-rarely invoked)

Wrong, you are insuring everyone else but yourself. The whole system is wrong and has to be changed.

Actually we don't need Super Carriers. As far as I know we don't have any near nor distant plans to strike major inland targets. Our continued Naval role would be buisness as usual, sovereignty patrols and NATO obligations. For these roles Pocket Carriers would be ideal.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with that, but you need to have air support. The problem is, there is not a good and reliable vertical take off and landing fighter. That would have to be designed and built. By then it would be far cheaper to go with a bigger carrier. The US is starting to shy away from the new raptor which looked promising but has problems and is away over budget.

  3. I guess you don't think that these sorts of actions have anything to do with why some folks in Palestine (The Occupied Territories) might just be a little leary of any kind of 'peace' the Israelis may offer?

    Peace = Dead or gone.

If I we're running Israel I would make it very clear that for every attack on Israel, we will take a mile of your territory, move you out and you will never get it back.

No. They have absolved themselves of liability when the driver forged the ins co name and policy number on the licence plate forms.

No they haven't. They set the flawed system up. Where one can buy PL and PD then register a vehicle, get a plate and then turn around and cancel the insurance. The system invites fraud and abuse and they know it, and they know it is happening every day.

It is also why you purchase "uninsured motorist" coverage.

Which is all you should have to buy or not buy . Only in a backwards system does one have to buy insurance that covers everyone but the guy who actually buys the insurance.

  5. British carriers are not very capable for anything other than escort duties. While the US carriers can strike well over 800 miles deep with aerial refueling, Harriers are not suitable for anyting beyond a couple of 100 miles.

The idea that Canada has the money and the manpower for a couple of carrier groups is laughable.

Considering that an aircraft carrier will at a bare minimum need:

    1 AOR

    1 missile cruiser

    6 destroyers or frigates

....you are talikng about 7000 people.......

It's only laughable if you are socialist. There is plenty of money. Just the money that is thrown down the Indian rat hole every year is more than sufficient, and there also are many of the people to do the job. Rather than getting something for nothing, it's long past time to produce something for what they get.

  6. Yes it is up to the GOVERNMENT in Canada to provide Compensation for victims of crime, this does not INCLUDE items that have been stolen.

Well this item has not been stolen.

What's a government problem. Letting an uninsured driver on the road who causes an accident.

A crime has been committed, should the government pay to replaces the vehicle?

  7. More shameless Conservative vote buying in the province of Quebec.

That's exactly what it is. Unless they plan on using such a force in this country, it's not of much use. Without your air force, what are you going to do once you get somewhere. What they really need are a couple of carrier groups and everything that goes with them.

  8. It's crazy, but a lot of people seem to think it doesn't matter if someone lies when theyre not under oath. You'd think the principal of honesty would stand on it's own, but apparently it doesn't.

Yeah the dems are proof of that, and Clinton didn't think it mattered when he was under oath.

hey, at least he took the oath... i guess this situation is what chenney is thinking about. "gee clinton lied under oath and got fried, i'm not doing that, i just won't take the oath"! :-)

    No he's thinking about Libby.

What does that mean? What war that been going on for 25 years? What does 911 have to do with Iraq?

The war of appeasement as far as the left are concerned.

Time I see to check on my Alcan stock......

Good idea. As the old saying goes, feck, fight, hold the light, or get the hell out of the road.

Really? Was that what the UNSC said they could invade for? If we have to, we can go through the list of what the original mission goals were, after all, when the WMD turned out to be nothing more that a bogeyman, revisionist goals popped up one after another. That being said, I don't recall anywhere reading that turning Iraq into a training camp for terrorists or plunging the nation into sectarian war as being an indication of success.

    Mission accomplished but still ongoing.

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. American and coalition forces have begun a concerted campaign against the regime of Saddam Hussein. In this war, our coalition is broad, more than 40 countries from across the globe. Our cause is just, the security of the nations we serve and the peace of the world. And our mission is clear, to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people.

True. Just because there have been no indication of success doesn't mean in 10 or 20 years martyrdom seeking fanatics won't be in short supply.

There have been no 911's since in a war that's been going on for at 25 years in it's most recent times. Now we've entered the phase to end appeasement that began with the end of the crusades. If another 20 sees the end it would be excellent and is certainly within our power.
