  1. This is indeed an interesting fix Bush has gotten us into. (Is gotten a word??? I always write it by instinct in sentences like this.) Ordinarily, the idea of a Muslim nation in or near the the Middle East armed with nuclear weapons should scare the Hell out of us. But who she we be MOST afraid of - the religious kooks running Iran or the religious kooks in Washington, D.C.? Every nation has a right to defend itself, and the Iranians must be frightened to death, with the world's chief religious kook laying waste to Iraq next door. As a U.S. citizen, I also like the idea of a new nuclear power that can block Bush's expanionist policies in the Middle East and Central Asia. It's still scary as Hell, but I think of it as a necessary evil. Another thing to keep in mind is that Iran is not alone. If Bush launches another invasion, he could find himself at war with China and/or Russia. The irony is that some European nations might actually support Bush, because they're justifiably afraid of waking up with a new nuclear power in their backyard.
  2. This reminds me of Bush's famous, "You're either with us or against us." Exactly the same philosophy. Given the amount of political spin you should be looking far more broadly for information. Sadly, it was the attacks on the World Trade Centre which so destroyed the naivety of many - Bush had nothing to do with its loss. "Sadly, it was the attacks on the World Trade Centre which so destroyed the naivety of many - Bush had nothing to do with its loss." He looked awfully guilty to me. More important, he acted guilty. He had a motive and a means, and he profited very handsomely.
  3. That might work in the message box, but it doesn't work for my signature. Every forum seems to have its own rules for links and signatures! Thanks.
  4. The world's most arrogant CEO, Bill Gates, recently warned Asian governments that they may be sued if they use open source software, claiming they would be infringing on more than 100 patents that Microsoft owns (though Microsoft won't divulge any details of these patents). I predict this strategy will blow up in Gates' greedy face. He may be able to bluff smaller, weaker countries, but I don't believe for one minute that China will surrender to Microsoft. China will tell Bill Gates to shove it, which could send Gates running to the World Trade Organization. Such a move could have two possible results: 1. The WTO could find against Microsoft, which could have disastrous consequences for Bill Gates, Inc. 2. The WTO could find in Microsoft's favor, in which case China would tell the WTO to shove it. And if China refuses to let the WTO dictate its choice of software, other nations may follow in open rebellion, leaving Bill Gates with egg all over his face. So please continue with the threats, Bill. P.S. What code does this forum use for links? I tired both [url=] and <a href="URL"> in my signature, but neither work.
