  1. The door to your place, once you contribute to the well be of Canada by leaving? No thanks. I have standards.
  2. How do I call your choice of terms? The product of a deluded mind, with nothing to do with reality. By the way, I am still waiting to see how you plan to protect the English language against the threat that exists only in your imagination.
  3. Nice try, Leafless. Your "advice" has nothing friendly but is all full of francophobia. Let's forget that your comments about the French language shows your ignorance (oh surprise)... Although... I thought the french language had (in your opinion) so much influence that English needed to be protected You could not care less if I speak French... except that I should speak English. Then you demonstrate the misguided belief that people needs to provide you (or anybody else) with a justification for a choice that is none of your business?
  4. I would suggest ignoring him. The fact his latest posting is the less non-sensical of all leads me to believe he's actually posting what ever he thinks will get a reaction.
  5. I knew of course you would run out of non-sense before long, but to degrade yourself to that level..
  6. I'll take that as a compliment of my uncanny capicity to mock non-sense.
  7. Sorry to burst your bubble, but your hatred is not an English or Canadian cultural trait... just a demonstration of your personal failure, You mean... like what those racists in Quebec are trying to do? No, it doesn't. But once in a while, when I have nothing better to do, I come to a site like, this and come across someone like you. That's when I remember there are little men full of hatred (like you) in this world. But don't worry... summer is coming soon and I will be outdoors, having forgotten about you.
  8. Threats of violence against a group of people who only demands what is far (city by-laws in English and French for Gatineau). What of bunch of whackos. That being said, thank you very much Leafless. While you use the word racist to describe that pile of m*nure known as Quebec's language laws, here you go bemoaning the fact that English-speaking Canadians are not equally or even more protective of the English language. Make everyone's day. Tell us how you would do it.
  9. I entirely agree. But since there is no discriminatory legislation at the federal level... no cancer. Oops, there is a cancer, and it should be removed. I'll be happy to help you pack, and I will even contribute to your plane ticket.
  10. The school system has a responsibility to create an environment where children can realize their full potential. It is evident that the Toronto school system has failed most Black kids. I am not sure that Afro-centric schools is the solution. PS: Argus. What is the problem with white kids that would justify white-only schools?
  11. Interesting, isn't Argus? 100 000 non-French speaking immigrants to Quebec would be fine and dandy, but there are too many cars with license Quebec license plates parked by Canadian residents in Ottawa lots.
  12. Interesting. I once heard (or read, so long ago) a quote from a rabbi stating not only that being the Chosen people was not a sign of Jewish superiority, but it was more a curse than a blessing.
  13. What if... Christian Horizons had a policy barring women from employment on Biblical grounds (women should marry, submit and stay at home)?
  14. Thanks for confirming that equal rights for all Canadians is not something legitimate in your eyes, Argus. BTW, I would be convinced by the "but of course there can be bilingual services at the counter", if it wasn't for your"they speak english anyway" and "they don't belong here" philosophy. At least I am happy to know that with your "language skills" do not matter stance, you would have no problem with senior management in the federal government being occupied by unilingual Francophones. You know of course I don't think it should be the case.
  15. Stephen Harper is incompetent. Most Canadians are incompetent (at least each and everyone of the ENGLISH-speaking Canadians I know who have mentioned anything about it). Good thing we have the Bloc and Leafless to defend the interests of Canada against those who believe Quebec is part of Canada.
  16. There is only one word to describe anyone who makes ethnic origin or first language the measure's of a person's loyalty. The same word prperly used to describe someone who would use skin color or creed in the same disgusting fashion. You know the one, Leafless.
  17. Let's admit it. The Governor-General is incompetent. Think about it. She doesn't have francophobic leanings. She manages in one visit to get a President of France to express opinions favourable to Canadian unity, for the first time in over 40 years. And she gets to Bloc all mad and fuming and whining. But let's not forget the real reasons why she is incompetent. First, she's from Haiti. Second, she is not a loyal Canadian - how could she, when (at least in Leeafless' world) one can not be a Francophone and a loyal Canadian. Who needs comedy when we get opinions like that?
  18. Here's a quote from you, Leafless. Word for word. And you think you can foul people about how much of a francophobe you are?
  19. What can I say? I am unable to see differences that do not exist. But at least, you got me on one thing. I do indeed agree with Quebec's language laws. So much in fact that I refer to it as a pile of m*nure. Imagine the level of foul language I would use if I actually disagreed with it
  20. Here we go again... When an organization would rather stop serving those in need than stop employment practices that have NOTHING to do with the work they perform, THEY are the ones who betray those in need. And they demonstrate that to them loving others and serving the poor and the needy is less important than shunning those they find "immoral". So spare us the crocodile tears about how it's "about those in needs". Nobody buys it, and nobody is in doubt about your motivations. So do yourself a favour and don't claim to teach anything to anyone about reality. Stick to something you are an expert at, like making a fool of yourself. Or feel free to answer a simple question. What makes a lesbian unable to change a disabled person's diapers, take care of their physical and emotional needs, or show them love and compassion? Since not being a lesbian seems to be a bona fide requirement for caring for the disabled, surely you can explain why?
  21. My pet peeve is not homophobia, it hatred and intolerence. And the tought, offensive to logic, decency and basic humanity, that society has not business intervening, through its governments, to prevent employment or service practices that, because they are discriminatory and unjustifiable by the needs of the jobs and services in question, are not justified. Society regulates businesses in many, from what they can, can't and must say to clients to product safety standards and rules on opening hours. Society regulates employers, from minimum salary to safety standards. The freedom of a business or an employer to act as they see fit is not absolute. There is nothing wrong, on the contrary, in regulating against practices harmful to the common good. BTW, when was the last time employers posted "no people with brown eyes need apply". I can do better, but you can do much better.
  22. Easy to say, August. When page after page in the job sections said "Negroes need not apply", when publicly founded universities had quotas on the number of Jews they would admit, when restaurants had signs stating "No dogs or Chinese admitted", when hotel had vacancies... until a non-white showed up, when even the law included such injustice, "crossing the street" was not an option. In a democracy like ours, the State represents each and every citizen. When the law forbid unfair hiring or service practices, it is talking on behalf of society as a whole. And I see a difference between you and Argus you don't see... You are merely wrong... Argus tops that with homophobic ranting.
  23. Thank you for proving my point. A bit different from your earlier statement that to be truly Canadian I would need to raise my children (if I had any) in English, isn't it? But since you want to try that one... I am from Ontario (of course, I do not mean that Ontarians are more Canadian) and, unlike you or those who believe in that pile of m*nure called the Quebec language laws, I don't claim that people need to use any particular language to be truly this or that. Would that make me more loyal than you? And there is you, whose claim about the GG's position is not based on anything she said or did, but on your prejudice and ignorance. I am a Canadian, and my Canada includes Quebec, the good and the bad. It includes all Canadians, the good and the bad. The least you could do is to make up your mind and settle on one spin for your claim that to be truly Canadian I should use English and not French. As you can see from my postings, my choice of the French language does not prvvent me from having a low opinion of Quebec's language laws. And as I can see from your postings, choosing English is not an antidote against prejudice. They are not raising their children in English? Does that mean that they are not truly Canadians, or that they support Quebec's language policy? You forget that YOU expended the topic the moment YOU started whining about where the GG comes from, and the moment YOU questioned how truly Canadian I am because of the Canadian language I choose. You cannot resist the opportunity to demonstrate your prejudice, don't blame me for it.
  24. Here's the proof that to you I am not a true Canadian, Leafless... The proof that apart from the methods there is no difference between you and someone who believe that pile of m*anure called Quebec's language laws is a good thing. Any word YOU use to describe them is therefore appropriate to describe you. Including the r word.
