Child pornography is an act that leads to illegal activity with adolescents that haven't fully sexually or mentally matured. Homosexuality is an act between two consenting adults that have had the opportunity to age to a point where they have sexually and mentally matured (excluding dysfunctional cases gay or straight) Rape is a forceful act that involves brutality and violence, homosexuality does not. Well unfortunately polygamy is not an issue that our society really needs to address because there isn't outcry for it. Pertaining to being gay, it is shown that it is normal, genetic in many cases, and we're finding that a good portion of the American population is gay. If, in our democratic society, 80 percent of people were for polygamy and there was an outline to legalize it, I wouldn't see the problem. The factor we face today is equality, if men and women are allowed to be married, then men and men - women and women should be allowed to marry as well, with the same financially and federal rights. Hey, Suppose gay marriage does push the envelope? So what, so be it, it's not gay people's fault that people may seek change on their fight for equality. Comparing the situations is obviously ridiculous and incites further bigotry that shouldn't be acceptable in a democratic society. The plain fact is that gay people are getting the shaft by Christian conservative aka Bush and Co. and don't deserve to be. Honestly I'm appalled by John Kerry's stance as well, a masked liberal but truly moderate democrat doesn't have the first clue on what equality is, he's just desperately trying to make as many people happy as possible, to lock in the presidency, and it's not working. Liberal, The UN can't make a resolution because everytime they try it is vetoed by the US. When it comes to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, Israel is giving a green light to reign terror on the Palestinians and it's reinforced anytime anyone from the international community objects to Israel or their actions. It is just in that Rantisi has been killed in Gaza City. His car was booby trapped or missiles were fired at the vehicle, sources haven't confirmed yet. This is just a few weeks after Sheik Yassin the former leader of Hamas was killed. This is just one more step in Israel's complete disregard of reality and the continuing unilateralism that I'm sure will just lead to a continuing of oppression and terror, mostly started by Israel. The fact that so many Palestinian civilians have been killed and wounded in the Occupied Territories is the problem. With U.S. backing Israel has the green light to go in and destroy and run over everything in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. But this is just another day in the life of occupation by and oppressive force. Remi

Hugo, Not to mention Israeli Arabs do not have the same immigration rights and land rights, not to mention many are discriminated for being Arabs. This includes firing Arab/Israelis for speaking Arabic while working at McDonalds. Or how about development projects in the more "Arab" regions in Israel that are severly less funded than that of Jewish Israeli's, turning the Arab/Israeli neighborhoods into ghettos. Remi

Congress created the commission -- initially opposed by the Bush administration -- in November 2002 and charged it with coming up with an authoritative account of the 9/11 attacks, including any security and intelligence lapses. (http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/04/08/911.commission/index.html) If the Bush administration was truly seeking justice to one of the most horrific incidents America has seen on it's soil, then why did they object to a commision to find the truth? I think it's beyond odd that the Bush Administration, being uncompliant until hairpulling was introduced, wouldn't go along with a program that could answer many questions that the families of victims deserved to know. I think it's great that our President will milk our homeland's pain for all it's worth, but when it comes to analyzing the Administration that was in office, they stand up and vehemently oject. Hypocritical to say the least, but I've come to expect no less from this tired, negligent group of so called representatives and leaders. It may not be Vietnam, but things aren’t looking pretty. BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Shiites angry over the arrest of a top cleric's deputy stormed through a Baghdad neighborhood Sunday, killing seven U.S. troops, wounding dozens more and taking over buildings, coalition officials said Isn’t it ironic to anyone else, the Shiites that have clearly been more on the U.S. side and construction of a new government, are now turning against their American occupiers. I feel as though every time our administration brags that things are getting better in Iraq, things take a swift dive, as they did a few weeks ago. I think we should support our troops there as much as we can, but someone needs to help reform Bush’s plan for the vision of Iraq because his incompetence is clearly shining through.
