    All I know is my life was hell for 4 months after a false positive mammogram done in my 40's when the breast tissue is too dense to get a good picture. I wish I never had it done! Now if mammogram don't do much for people in there 40's and you insist they should have them done maybe you want everyone to have mammograms. Why not 30 year olds my niece in-law has breast cancer she's only 34 or maybe man need mammograms too as the drummer from KISS has breast cancer. If I use your logic if there is a chance of cancer than mammogram! ;)

    The radiation produced from mammograms when used on the basis prescribed by a physician/specialist is inconsequential. Please stop spreading pointless facts that only serve to misinform.

    It's not inconsequiential if you have a false positive and they have to redo it twice, then the ultrasound then they wanted to do a biopsy. I told them I had enough of their science as I don't have and breast cancer in my family and none of the risk factors. So they decided I needed mammograms every 6 months, I told them to forget that too once every two years is more than enough. I guess this study says about the same thing.

    Perhaps. Yet our living standard has also dropped, a lot! It takes two incomes today for a family to have what one income provided in the 60's and 70's. I know, I lived it and paid attention!

    I lived it too the main difference is in the 60's & 70's you didn't live on credit. In fact I didn't know of anyone with a credit card. Even your house you had a downpayment of 20- 25% which kept prices lower.

    Where's our Nov 11 Stat holiday?? The US has ten, Canada has nine. Make Nov 11 a stat!!

    You need to move to BC we are enjoying our Nov 11 Stat holiday! :)

    Remembrance Day is a statutory holiday in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, and Yukon.

    In Manitoba, an "Official day of Observance", not a statutory holiday.

    In Nova Scotia, not a statutory holiday in that employers have the option of giving Remembrance Day or an alternate day off.

    Not a statutory holiday in Ontario or Quebec.

    it's something we should do every year for the seasonal flu not just for H1N1...many people die every year from flu needlessly because we don't respect how deadly a flu can be...if this Pandemic serves as an education for us then that will be a good thing...I think back over the years and all the times I was really ill with a flu bug and how I could have avoided many of them if I had been vaccinated...

    The season flu vaccine is different because they are guessing the which flu to make the vaccine against 6 months in advance must times they pick the wrong ones. :(

    Hi Nat. How do you do that? I too find the text a little too large.

    I use IE 8 there is a magnifing glass on the bottom right hand corner that I click on an set at 75%.

    or you can try this:

    IF you want to increase, decrease the size of a font om anhy given website, all you need to do is use CTRL+ Mousewheel. But yeah the font is huge compared to most sites I visit.

    My personal reaction will be: In the spring I will sell my condo. I will move into an unregistered apartment in someone's house, and I will buy as little as possible that has tax on it - any goods that are not food will be from flea markets, Chinese shops (the sort of black market ones that don't charge tax), ebay, and kijiji. I will use the company that I have registered, but has no income, to setup a HST number and will claim as much HST back that I possibly can.

    I want to be the fly on the wall at your first audit! :lol:
