  1. Heck no there was not a link between al Qaeda and Iraq and there needn’t be one. We would have invaded Saudi Arabia if that connection was a prerequisite. And their oil fields produce.
  2. Thanks I thought it might just be me. I’m a little confused about the whole topic. Isn’t the BBC acting in a manner we expect from free media? How else would we have coined all those nifty terms like ‘CigarGate’?
  3. If taking Arafat out is an option let the Israelis handle it...I’m not sure we could find him.
  4. Does all of Craig Read’s posts end is a personal attack? With the obvious lack of reasoning ability I sure hope you got the opposing thumbs.
  5. They need to sue the lawyers for misrepresentation. Now that’s self perpetuation.
  6. One man’s ‘tax waist’ is another’s ‘public broadcast’ lets not have all news media and journalists sellout to almighty profit. WMD’s were used as a crutch to invade and the BBC exposed the possible extent of the deceit. Some might not want to evaluate all sides of issues, most do however. A man died either by his own hand or others over the incident. This is noteworthy. Politicians must be held accountable. Who knows Iran might have the ability to deliver WMD’s in 15 minutes. The BBC stays.
  7. “...Here’s what former counterterrorism official in the Reagan Administration Robert Oakley told The Washington Post on Dec. 24, 2000, about Clinton’s national security policy: “Overall, I give them very high marks.” He went on: “The only major criticism I have is the obsession with Osama, which made him stronger.” I venture the truth lies between somewhere.
  8. I fear Arafat has no more actual control over Hamas and the Islamic Jihad than I do. Kill him it won't change a thing.
  9. “``I authorized the arrest and, if necessary, the killing of Osama bin Laden and we actually made contact with a group in Afghanistan to do it. We also trained commandos for a possible ground action but did not have the necessary intelligence to do it in the way we would have had to do it,'' Mr. Clinton said in New York.” http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/2001/09...es/03240003.htm Clinton was embroiled in ‘cigargate’ there were wolves everywhere he turned. I’m not saying this as an excuse but possibly the Joint Chiefs knew the country would not follow him into war. As I stated I’m no fan so your indignation is lost on me but facts are facts he received poor intelligence and advice. Remember the United States People had never before heard the words Osama bin Laden.
  10. IMHO it would make little or no difference to eliminate Arafat. The Arabs need the ‘Palestinian cause’ to keep their repressed people focused on the cause and not their own sufferings. God / Ala forbid if the people start looking inward towards their own welfare governments. As for Israel it is better to struggle with the Palestinians on one front than several countries on several fronts. Until Arabia can be helped into the twenty-first century and the people feel there is actually hope in their future this is the best that can be expected. Kill Arafat and the Muslims have a martyr for a rally point keep him and nothing changes.
  11. Hello all. Not that I’m a big Clinton fan but he did put out an open order to capture or take out Osama to both the CIA and DIA. He was told by the Joint Chiefs that a cruse missile attack was his only best option and an invasion into Afghanistan was a non-option.
