  1. I guess by the out come of the 2004 elections, we're willing to take our chances with George W. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No doubt you are right. If I was an American citizen in 2004 I may have done the same and voted for GW. I doubt I'd do the same today. I wonder if the American people would make the same choice today as they would in 2004. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well, since his poll # have been going up over the last 2 months, I'd think he's in good shape. Regardless, Kerry has already proven he is a way to weak on national security, he is pulling his "we can't win" crap that he did after vietnam again.
  2. I'm repeatedly disgusted by the extent the Bush administration goes to in undermining individual freedoms and rights all in the name of national security. I never supported the Patriot Act but these actions go even further. It seems that the US has become a place where "National Security" gives anyone free pass to violate constitutionally protected rights. The worst part is I think that Bush actually believes he is on the side of right. He is one dangerous man, probably more dangerous to the American People than any terrorist. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess by the out come of the 2004 elections, we're willing to take our chances with George W.
  3. It is a well established fact from the various commissions that have looked into the issue. The only people who look like a fools are those who continue to insist on justifying the war in Iraq because of WMDs.Clinton may have said that Saddam could have WMDs (as did France and other countries), however, Clinton would have recognized that intelligence reports are not necessarily accurate and committing to a expensive war based on those reports was a rash and irresponsible act. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please name the various commisions that said Bush "lied". -MI5 -KGB -CIA (Tenant, a Clinton appointee said it was a slam dunk) -Israeli Intelligence ALL SAID SADDAM HAD WMDs not to mention that Saddam had used them prior. To say Bush "lied" means that all of these independent sources lied as well.
  4. And this is worse than deliberately lying to to American public about the presence of WMD in Iraq? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you think Bush "lied", then you must think Clinton lied as well b/c they have tapes of him saying over and over again that Saddam had WMDs as late as 2000. Please, try to educate yourself on the subject that you're speaking on. To say Bush "lied" about WMDs make you look like a fool.
  5. She's been a nut for over a year now. 1.) Her son (RIP) signed up 2 times, he knew what he was getting involved in and still went. 2.) She did meet with GWB after her son died and she said Bush really seemed to care about her and her son's death. Only months after did she change her "story" The far left liberals in the US used a naive, gullible, grieving mom and threw her away like a tissue when it no longer had value for her.
  6. Paul Martin will be waving a big white flag alright... one trimmed with red on each side and having a big red maple leaf in the centre... in fact he'll be wrapped in it... And Stephen will be on the throne for sure...after the election he won't leave the bathroom for weeks... Actually Paul Martin is being very kind to the Americans... he is only howling about trade and Kyoto... he's saying nothing about secret prisons, torture, or any other of the eyebrow-raising horrors that filtre out of Washington lately... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "very Kind to Americans"? - Are you drunk? He went out of his way to insult us.
  7. Indeed. In fact, after watching a few episodes of Rick Mercer's "Talking To Americans", it's apparent that a lot of them don't even know where we are. Heh heh. I still recall the one where a woman was being asked if she thinks it's a bad thing that most Canadian kids don't know the names of the Canadian "state" capitals, and while she pondered the question, her son, a kid about 8 years old, said "Hey, wait a minute, Canada has provinces, not states". Or what about the Seal hunting in Saskatchewan??? Heh heh. "Would you climb on top of Peter Mann's Bridge to protest the Saskatchewan seal hunt???". Or Canada's new $5.00 wooden coin. "Congratulations, Canada, on your first woody". Or how about "Congratulations, Canada, on preserving your national igloo". Bloody college professors making fools of themselves offering truly earnest opinions of totally, ludicrously, foolish, non-existent situations in Canada. Even GWB was recorded expressing his happiness that "Prime Minister Poutine" was behind him in his first election. How can you run for president of the USA when you don't even know the name of the elected leader of your immediate neighbour??? And the American public, when informed of this fact, didn't care any more than George did. The simple fact is that the vast majority of Americans neither know nor care anything about Canada. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what a compete load of crap. BTW: when GWB said "PM Poutine", he was speaking about Putin in Russia, nothing to due with Canada.
  8. Probably because most of what you've posted is such drivel. Really? What have you posted of substance? Your initial claim was "A large # of Americans are ever-increasingly seeing Canada and its citizens as anti-American." But you've not backed that up at all, instead trying to show us how anti-American Candians are. Which, again, doesn't support your point. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What a joke. Believe whatever you want buddy. As a matter of fact, Americans love getting insulted in front of the world by our "friends" (despite actually being more effective at reducing our emissions over the last year than Canada. Its just like when the AIDs Day fools smeared us for not give enough money, only to later find out that we give more than the rest of the world combined).
  9. So what you're saying is you have no idea what you're talking about? Good to know. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That makes absolutely no sense. I'm an American, I follow politics, watch tv news reports, read papers and websites (many Canadian sources). Why do you assume I have no idea what I'm talking about? Regardless, I’m writing about how AMERICANS perceive Canada being very anti-American in their views b/c of several (already posted) reasons. I think this qualifies me just fine to speak on this issue.
  10. huh? - Dude, you couldn't be farther from the truth. I live in Pennsylvania. Have almost my whole life. I've never even been to Canada (I hear its cold ). BTW, here is an article supporting statement about the good ole USA getting tired of the bs coming from Canada. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...alDecision2006/ Washington scolds Ottawa U.S. tired of Canadian attacks on environment, trade policies
  11. You care about what teenagers think? Is this a joke? Teenagers don't know anything about anything. They make some of the posters here seem bright by comparison. Why would you care what they think? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The story also said "Clearly, the anti-American sentiment isn't just something coming from 30-somethings or even 20-somethings.'' - very much implying that 20 and 30 somethings have held this view for sometime.
  12. Weird, when I saw this poll I must have had the wrong idea about how Canadians feel towards us. http://www.canada.com/national/features/yo...8d-b67774ac879b Teens see United States as evil global force a telephone poll of 500 teens aged 14 to 18, more than 40 per cent of respondents saw the U.S. as an evil global force. Among French Canadians, that number jumped to 64 per cent. Ontario proved the most conflicted on the issue; there, nearly one-fifth of youth were on the fence. ``Teens have taken (Ronald) Reagan's concept of the Soviet Union as an evil empire and turned it back on the U.S.,'' says Rudyard Griffiths, director of the Dominion Institute. ``Clearly, the anti-American sentiment isn't just something coming from 30-somethings or even 20-somethings.'' Just like I was wrong when you guys booed our national anthem during hockey games in 2003. http://www.boston.com/dailynews/080/sports...al_anthe:.shtml Fans boo as U.S. national anthem is played By Associated Press, 3/21/2003 00:47 MONTREAL (AP) Fans booed during the playing of the U.S. national anthem before the New York Islanders' 6-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night. These incidents on top of the ‘missile defense rejection’ and the last weeks slap in the faceby Martin (BTW, if the message is what you wanted to get cross, then why try to humiliate us and play to the anti-American crowds?) are all starting to add up.
  13. Best use your words to refute the issues instead of reverting to ad hominem attacks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, if you post things that have absolutely no bases in reality, don’t be surprised if I treat you like you a fool. In short, the article you posted, was crap.
  14. It was us "anti-Americans" who housed all you folks when you landed your planes due to 911, or have you forgot about that little incident. Keep voting in Bushs' and we'll keep criticising the administration. And we're not alone. Ask the rest of the world. And while I'm at it, here's what Dubya thinks of your constitution. http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publ...icle_7779.shtml <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [/qu "housed all of you folks" - is this for real? There were what, a few thousand people stranded out of almost 300 million? Are you saying you don't believe there is a large anti-American voice coming out of Canada and the Canadian gvt in the past few years? I actually can't believe that you think the "capitolhillblue" post has any credibility? - You really must be naive. Go back to your high school class kid, the grown ups are talking here.
  15. See now this is what I'm saying, here is a Canadian trying to stir up anti -Canadian sentiment by assuming the stereotypical ignorant American redneck reaction to everything. Well you went overboard buddy. Nobody believes even rednecks are that sensitive to positive suggestions from our esteemed Prime Minister, let alone a large number of Americans unless a large number for you is , say, 5 or 6. That was a good try though, but not something that a shrewd bunch of political hacks like those of us on here are going to think twice about. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> First things first, you come off like an arrogant jackass! Try turning on a radio or tv sometimes, almost every political program mentioned this last week. Do you think they called Ambassador McKenna in to express our anger as show? But, believe whatever you want.
  16. A large # of Americans are ever-increasingly seeing Canada and its citizens as anti-American. We Americans have taken a lot of international shot in the past few years (some we brought on ourselves). You don’t like some of our policies? That’s fine; we don’t like some of yours. But, to deliberately purposely insult us and our ELECTED gvt administration in front of a global media is a DISGRACE and certainly no the way to treat an ally (and Canadians were upset that Pres. Bush said England was our closest ally after 9-11, obviously he was right, your NOT our friends and we are starting to understand that very clearly). This latest incident was a HUGE slap in the face. Know this, the US is awaking to how Canadians feel about us and guess what ,,,,, we don’t like it very much. If you want a fight, just keep pushing, we will not tolerate much more.
