  1. What's that? Take home pay?
  2. Would it make any difference if 100% Albertans voted? I doubt it.
  3. I was merely quoting what Joe Volpe said, Argus.
  4. Yeah, it was little muddled, I was just trying to fit in. Still, I'm surprised that you, of all people, didn't get the point. Isn't it true that if one chooses to ply their trade in America first they're not as welcome to try it here as if they started here in the first place?
  5. OH YES THERE IS! The last time many of us thought Paul Martin would turn on a dime and go rightwing. Now that we know what a chicken shit he is ... WATCH OUT!
  6. Later or sooner Conservatives are going to win. And that's a promise!
  7. Brilliant man that Freud! But then ... most Czechs are.
  8. LOL I used to get banned, but it's all over now.
  9. It doesn't matter. Engineers, taxi drvers ... we need them all. I heard Joe Volpe appealing to truck drivers just the other day, complaining that, and I quote: "About 6,000 long-haul trucks are sitting empty in New Brunwick because there aren't enough truckers." If he's putting truck drivers into a "skilled worker" category then surely, taxi drivers cannot be far behind.
  10. But surely they don't put limits on how many operations an individual doctor can do. This bonus alone would easily triple many a private doctor's take home pay here in Canada.
  11. You obviously aren't as prone to tobacco addiction as most men are. I bet that if they put this on cigarette packages instead, more people would cut down. Listen: "Tobacco, divine, rare, superexcellent tobacco, which goes far beyond all the panaceas, potable gold, and philosopher's stones, a sovereign remedy to all diseases ... but as it is commonly abused by most men, which take it as tinkers do ale, 'tis a plague, a mischief, a violent purger of goods, lands, health, hellish, devilish and damned tobacco, the ruin and overthrow of body and soul." - Robert Burton (1577-1640)
  12. I agree with you Geoffrey. It ticks ME off, for instance, when I see immigrants who are confident enough in their skills to give the U.S. the first kick at the can, are then being frowned upon by Canada if & when they, for WHATEVER reason, don't succeed down there. Yet Canadians who actually ARE given the opportunity to prove themselves by being given temporary Green Cards, but flunk out, are then always welcomed back home to a big fanfair ... with cushy jobs in their field of expertise waiting for them in many cases. Canada must realize that confidence counts, and that those immigrants who were confident enough to try out in the U.S. first, but did not succeed, are most likely still only second best to those who did. Thus they should be given a crack at temporary Canadian landed immigrant status instead of letting in those whose confidence is lacking.
  13. How the hell did you manage that? Did you enlist? Deserted? Got hitched?
  14. LOL At least he won't to go hungary.
