When it comes to rights the Supreme Court has to consider the rights of everyone, not just the majority. When rights conflict they usually tend to side with minority or marginalized groups which is not a bad thing in my opinion. Societies are judged by how their minorities and marginalized groups are treated.
Minorities are treated much better in Canada than many other advanced or industrial countries. The Supreme Court must protect the right of everyone not just the minorities. Women are treated relatively well in Canada though there is room for improvements.
I apologize for my earlier outburst. I didn't know you were quoting someone (if you were, still not sure). I thought it was your own comment. I am very sensitive to women's rights and issues I may have overreacted.

I don't know about the details of this SCC justice comment as I don't live in BC but if it is true then it is unfortunate such an idi*t is appointed to such position. I never thought it would happen in Canada but there are bad apples everywhere,

Leaders of all three major parties who stand a chance to win the next election are male. There has been 23 Prime Ministers in Canada's history all of them male with the exception of Kim Campbell who served for a short time (and really screwed up but that had nothing to do with her gender).Half of Canada's population is female and this statistics is unfortunate and unacceptable in an advanced country such as Canada. This is not a backward Islamic country where women cannot be elected or served in high positions.
It seems things are not going well in Canada in this century. We need a female Prime Minister.

The number of democratic countries has increased significantly. Eastern Europe, South America and some other Europeans like Spain and Greece now enjoy democracy compare to 50 years ago. However, the number of people under dictatorships remain the same because people in dictatorships mostly third world countries are reproducing like animals. Seven children like dogs and cats and cattle. and various diseases don't kill them anymore so all seven children live a long life.

This is not true. The world has significantly less dictators than the cold war era. Dictatorships in Eastern Europe like East Germany, Poland, etc. fell and replaced by democracy. South American dictatorships like Argentina fell and replaced by democracy. Many other examples. like Spain and Greece. Few countries fell and replaced by worse dictatorship and unfortunately Iran was one of them.

Maybe proportional representation of the public being half female but I do accept the comment that whoever best qualifies best for the job. That said women should be given equal opportunities from birth to reach that stage. Women are smarter than men. They have bigger hearts (generally speaking), less criminals (backed by statistics),
Look at how the men-dominated world has been (past 25 centuries) and how it is now (wars, suffering, hunger, pain). Maybe it is time for change. Men are physically stronger (and so is a gorilla) but that doesn't make them better governors or decision makers.
