fellowtraveller Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Big, big trouble on the left coast of Canuckistan! Most of the people who will suffer from this disaster will defintiely not be able to collect employment insurance. At least one watcher of the underground economy says the price of B.C. marijuana has gone up in the United States, and that could mean plummeting demand from Americans in future. This isn't just potheads, it is a seriously large cash business. Anecdote: in the Vernon/Lumby region, pensioners are hired by grow-ops at harvest time to process weed. $15/hour cash, no tax. Quote The government should do something.

Cool, I'm in the vernon lumby area, if not exactly a pensioner, and I wish someone who hire me to smoke oops I mean process dope. Ain't no dope fields that I can see around here...although I imagine you're probably talking about Cherryville. Quote
fellowtraveller Posted September 28, 2007 Author Report Posted September 28, 2007 (edited) Talk to Mike, Scott SA, or one of his many neighbours in the biz. He loves the pensioners: they show up, they don't grumble. they don't steal and they rarely smoke themselves into an inability to clean and package the product.
