madmax Posted February 15, 2007 Author Report Posted February 15, 2007 Funny how most of those that say we MUST do Kyoto because we signed it (though it has no benefit to Canada, worldwise CO2 has skyrocketed) are some of the first to say we should run from our NATO obligations in Afghanistan. It doesn't matter what the Plebes say on a forum. The government could withdraw from Kyoto. They had an opportunity to do such an action. They appeared ready to do such, when all mention of Kyoto and all programs where eliminated. But they didn't. The Logic that the government can leave Kyoto intact as a treaty obligation, but not enforce it, is the same logic applies for a never ending NATO obligation in Afghanistan. Quote
jdobbin Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 The NDP and BQ supported the Kyoto Bill put forth by the Liberal. That doesn't appear to be propping up the government position in this case. But it can't bring the government down, as no money is involved. The NDP were propping up Martin's Liberals for a while to make sure they had the timing right for an election. If the NDP support the budget in 60 days, they will be propping up the government even when they don't believe in Kyoto. Quote

"is that your final answer" I don't know if these polls can be closed off, but I figure it ran long enough. The Bloc Quebecois have been voted the most effective opposition. Quote

"is that your final answer" I don't know if these polls can be closed off, but I figure it ran long enough. The Bloc Quebecois have been voted the most effective opposition. My basic reason for the Bloc is, they know what their agenda is (Quebec) and you don't hear about flip flopping between themselves or their perceived mandate. The Liberals change like the wind with each other and their policy that they don't seem to have. Can't be effective if the public only sees a party that makes policy changes for the sake of only trying to get back in power. One other note,I think Harper and the Conservatives were the most effective opposition party( and I know some wish they still were).....but I guess that's why they're not in opposition any longer Quote "Any man under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart, and any man over 30 who is not a conservative has no brains." — Winston Churchill
