geoffrey Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Do you think it is coincidental that Mortons power base was from evangelical churches, that he is a believer in evolution, opposes abortion, etc etc? So anyone that earns the respect of a religious person is not to be trusted? I think the real cavemen here are quite obvious. fellowtraveller Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 Not to be trusted? When somebody attempts to slide an archaic program of regressive social values down a progressive societys gullet - no, I do not trust him or you, if you agree with that approach. If he has earned your respect with his social views, you should know that he has simulataneously lost the vote of the majority of Albertans who do not share those views.. I don't care what deity you or Morton present as your master. But do not attempt to change the secular nature of my government by pimping a character like Morton. Morton actually did all of us a service by awakening us to the danger of evangelical zealots in the political process. We'll be paying attention from now on, so Ted may as well finish his term and go back to academia. He is done like dinner, and you can bet the farm on that. This is not America, and there is no need at all to cater to religious lobbies. Quote The government should do something.
