Saturn Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 But I am not complaing about that. I am talking taxes. So in both cases , why am I paying three times (at least) the property taxes they are? Property taxes are part of the cost of owning property, which directly relates to affordability. In both cases, you seem to have gotten a bad deal if what you say is true. You can take your case to the appropriate authorities and if it is not resolved to your satisfaction and you don't think that the waterfront is worth the property taxes you are paying for it, I would suggest that you replace it with something that better fits your needs. "I" did not get a bad deal. It is cottagers as whole who have been robbed by these taxes. One last time.... Taxes = School (cannot use ever-wont allow my kids to go) , Water (dont get any-supply own), Sewer (dont have any access), Garbage yes I sort of get that. But here is the garbage kicker, it used to be Monday morning like it always was. They changed it to Thursday and in town gets monday. Why? Because they were "tired " of the overload during July and August. So we "can" leave our garbage on Sunday night, but the animals will get into it and make a mess the garbage men will rightly not clean up . Again, no one complains about paying a little more for having a cottage. What is irritating is the blatant rip off and subsidization of towns at our expense. Quote
Renegade Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 If people realize they are able-bodied for half their lives, they should save for the other half. They shouldn't be expecting to be taking money from other during the half they can't work. Throw the baby out the window of the maternity ward unless he comes out with a bag of gold. Interesting thought but it's just not in the cards. No, not really. The baby is the parents responsibity to fund and care for. Isn't that what they signed up for? If they can't step up to their responsibilties, its the parents who shoudl be replaced.
