mikedavid00 Posted December 17, 2006 Author Report Posted December 17, 2006 Permanent residents can be expelled from the country if they break laws. A citizen cannot. Thus, if the citizen children are in the care of their non-citizen parents, the non citizen parents will not get expelled. Then close the loop hole. Children of permanent residents need not be citizens immediately but could have the right to apply for Canadian citizenship when they turn 18 or when their parents are granted citizenship. If their parents are expelled then they would have to go with them or find another guardian. I agree. I know I'll get ganed up for saying the A word, but Arar came here under false claims that he was fleeing his country to avoid the army. This is not suffient grounds for refugee status in Canada or the US. While he was waiting for his hearing, he get married and had childrens who became citizens. This secured his fate in Canada. This is an exploit and loophole of our system. Now we have 'birth tours' to Canada in order for the children to become citizens. This is openly advertised in Korean Newspapers. There are also online support forums. Our gov't is doing nothing about this. I immagine they don't want to threaten any potential votes. Quote ---- Charles Anthony banned me for 30 days on April 28 for 'obnoxious libel' when I suggested Jack Layton took part in illegal activities in a message parlor. Claiming a politician took part in illegal activity is not rightful cause for banning and is what is discussed here almost daily in one capacity or another. This was really a brownshirt style censorship from a moderator on mapleleafweb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1oGB-BKdZg---
