Hydraboss Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 Absolutely. Would it fly? Probably not. But would the fact that there even was a referendum ever scare the shit out of the rest of the oil & gas consuming country. God, I would love to be the one read the results on national television and watch the fun. Hydraboss Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 And as a matter of fact I do have a receipt. It went through the wash in my other jeans and the ink kind of smeared, but I have it! The province is mine. Quote "racist, intolerant, small-minded bigot" - AND APPARENTLY A SOCIALIST (2010) (2015)Economic Left/Right: 8.38 3.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 3.13 -1.23
Jerry J. Fortin Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 An immediate break with Canada is not likely. For starters the PC's are still in ower here, they need to finish off themselves first and leave citizens with the desire for massive change. The next leader of this province will do that for our citizens. Alberta faces major problems, and its politicians either don't know or understand the extreme extent of the problems we face. The new premier will screw up by doing the same old things the same old way, and both him and his party will pay for it with their carreers. At that point their will be sufficient interest to start a movement to begin the process of political cleanup. The end result of that will be a rejection of the old system which allowed for the creation of the problems that we have encountered. Between now and that point in time, watch and see what the feds will do to Alberta. It won't be pretty folks. Ontario is about to lose tens of thousands of auto jobs. Make no mistake people, when Ontario hurts everybody gets to belly up to the bar and pay a chunck to carry them back to prosperity. Always have and always will, because they have the demographics to support their cause, it ain't freaking complicated people. This isn't rocket science. French Canada doesn't get what they want because they speak a different language, they got the votes to drive home their point in the Commons, so does Ontario and that is how it goes down. That is why things are the way the are. It is also why things WILL change and that is just the way that is too. Quote
