BAGHDAD, Iraq, March 26 — American and Iraqi government forces clashed with Shiite militiamen in Baghdad tonight in the most serious confrontation in months, and Iraqi officials said the fighting left at least 17 Iraqis dead, including an 80-year-old imam.

Likely going to be a real sh@tty week after this.

I can see why the Bush admin is now blaming the media. They know it's going to hell, and they have to blame someone.

Ya, looks like it will be a crappy week.

American officials are now saying that militias are the No. 1 security problem in Iraq, more dangerous than suicide bombs or guerilla attacks.

This is bad. Al Sadr was always a hothead. Well, since he sliced off the other cleric's head anyhow :lol: however, he was a calming force during the mosgue bombing but, seems to have once again become part of the problem. However, I wonder what would happen if he were taken out, it would probably get worse as the Shiites would have no control whatsoever.

Hard to conclude anything about this event other than the facts in the story.

They may have been Sadr militia, but it was the US and Iraqi forces who initiated the confrontation and many of the dead pictured are old men. I agree, this is bad.

Without out any real facts, you feel its bad for the US. And this is a shock to who? You openly root for the insurgency to defeat the US.

What do you mean "without any real facts"? There are real facts. It's bad for the US given the facts we have now.

And don't show up telling blatent lies about me. Accusing me of "openly rooting for the insurgency" is an ignorant, idiotic statement.

He's merely making an open observation that your posts are so blatently anti Iraqi forces and US that one cannot make any other obsevation. You range from mindless Bush bashing and name calling to US forces are illers without conscience and then, suddenly feel compassion for the killers and need to bring them home. Meanwhile, the Iraqi people you ignore by saying they have less casualties than the US soldiers whom you denegrate somehow figuring they will be in nirvannah if the US leaves.

So,

How come Saddam got twelve years and people like you called for more time and now, the Iraqi people only get three when they are voting, electing and carrying out politics for the first time Gerry?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
