Biblio Bibuli Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 In the article below, the editors smartly join and talk about both, George Bush's annual State of the Union address and Vladimir Putin's annual news conference. The side by side pictures of both men gives an impression, a correct impression I might add, that they are the best of friends. This is the greatest article I've seen in my dailies in a long long time and upon reading it I immediately began humming to myself ......... "Bush and Putin, Bush and Putin, go together like a horse and carriage ...". If these two men cannot assure that the world is a peaceful place, then who can? Nobody .... that's who! http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/sto...87-1882f8c03551 Here's an excerpt: "Bush aims at Iran's nukes Russia's Putin tells of a growing nation Published: Wednesday, February 01, 2006 WASHINGTON -- U.S. President George W. Bush last night issued a sharp warning to Iran, demanding it abandon its nuclear-weapons ambitions or face a showdown with the international community. In his annual state of the union address, Bush said America will not tolerate the Iranian government's pursuit of the bomb. In Moscow, President Vladimir Putin had sharp words for his critics and stark reminders of Russia's nuclear might at an annual news conference. Dismissing accusations he has replaced Cold War nuclear strength with energy supplies as a lever of political influence, Putin quipped: "We still have enough missiles." He went on to boast that Russia has tested new nuclear-capable missiles that he said can easily penetrate any defence system." geoffrey Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Bush and Putin are extremely ideologically different. So what if they are friends. I'm friends with some pretty crazy people, doesn't mean I'm the same as them right? Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
YankAbroad Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Putin plays Bush like a fiddle. Remember when Bush said "I looked into Putin's eyes and saw he had a good soul," or some other such nonsense? Sometimes I just want to hand Dubya a graham cracker and a bottle of juice and let him play in the corner. He'd not do as much damage that way (well, maybe to the walls if he got access to some crayons!) Quote

At exactly the same time that Bush is telling other countries that they can NOT have even an eency-weency WMD, Putin boasts about Russia's super-duper nuclear powers ... yet no one except a tabloid newspaper, The Province, has the balls to point this out. I know why Geoffrey won't wager a bet as to whether Putin's actions were meant to be pro or anti American (you see, he put all his spare cash betting on a CPC majority). But didn't most of you make wads of money on that election by betting the favorite? I'm betting that Bush and Putin had it all planned, just to piss off the Iranians et al. Insom Elvis Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 At exactly the same time that Bush is telling other countries that they can NOT have even an eency-weency WMD, Putin boasts about Russia's super-duper nuclear powers ... yet no one except a tabloid newspaper, The Province, has the balls to point this out. What's an eency-weency WMD? One that misses the city by 5 miles and kills 100,000 and wounding 600,000 rather than one that hiots dead-on and kills 1.2 million and wounds 2.4 million? I have to put this as simply as possible. I doubt Russia is going to nuke us. I think Iraq would if they had the chance. Therefore, I'm much more concerned that Iraq could have WMD's. Russia may have super-dooper nuclear powers, but they dont have the food to keep their own miltary fed. They have probably robbed the fuel to launch many of the nukes to fuel the planes that transport goods from place to place, I mean the cold war has been over for a while. I think Bush see's these nuts dancing in the streets burning American flags and shooting at embassys over cartoon publications and can't just sit and let them play with explosives. That makes sense to me. Quote
Biblio Bibuli Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 Remember when Bush said "I looked into Putin's eyes and saw he had a good soul,"? I remember. Just yesterday George and Laura Bush were on the Larry King show and Larry reminded George of exactly that and asked him if he still feels that way. George said that yes, that he still likes Vladimir Putin and that he has a very good relationship with him and that Mr. Putin is a great politician. Than Larry turned to Laura with the same question and she eagerly replied ... "Oh yes I like president Putin, I like him very much." Speaking about "good souls", what happened to Teddy Ballgame. Did some dog here have him banned again? Tsk tsk tsk!
