So far the United States NASA is not doing well in space and with all thats going on with Discovery are thinking of grounding future space flights. Canada is a leading country in space robotics and needs to be more active in a space roll and right now the United States cannot guarantee their roll if they are grounding future space flights. I have recently head on The NAtional that Canada wants to abandon are partnership with NASA for now and lend are technology to other countries like Russia China or Japan. This would be a great idea because not only can those countries guarantee space flights with are space robotics like the New Canada arm, they arn't groudned and arn't running into massive problems. I hope Canada figures out somthing soon because are robotics are not well suited sitting on earth rusting. Don't you agree?

Sell 'em to Virgin Galactic. The future of space exploration is in the private sector.

As of this second, there is no need to go anywhere in space. I definately would like to see Canada not supporting NASA going back to the moon.

Robotics are robotics are robotics. We could easily turn our expertise to earthly ventures and be successful, however the arm does advertise very well. The engineering isn't all that difficult for the arm, and I'm really not sure why everyone is so uppety about it. Perhaps because its our highest profile contribution, and it takes a good picture.

Probably if anyone, we should stick with NASA, just for the economic benefits, and the press.

Sir Spanky:

I don't think there was ever a pressing need to go into space. But pressing need isn't the driving force behind space exploration.

Well considering are arm is the only arm that any ocuntry that sends astronauts into space that can inspect a space shuttle. If it is so easy you should build one!

Thats funny you say that I should build one, I plan to do my thesis on a control system for manufacturing equipment, including presision 3D motion devices :)

Thats great that its the only arm up there. My point was that if we didn't do it, the Americans would. Its one of our token contributions.

I think the only real reason to even be touching these space programs, is to keep our satalites in orbit. As far as anything more grand, let others waste their money.

Well the Americans would build one but it wouldnt be as good as we build it.  What woudl they name it the American arm thats pretty funny I am gonna chuckle at that one.

Well if we partnered up into chinese, russian or other internbational space programs we wouldnt see a shuttle crash on earth or somthing go wrong every mission like the US seems to be doing at the momment. Well i think we should start are own space program so we can start doing are own research up in space that way we don't have to realy on people to do it for us.

So sir spanky you thinkwe should still stay partnered up with the US thats a question?
