apollo19 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 from: http://www.canada.com/national/story.html?...89-2f7ab7cad13d OTTAWA -- Prime Minister Paul Martin has named five new senators, including the mayor of Vancouver and two members of the opposition Conservative party. Hugh Segal, former chief of staff to Brian Mulroney, will sit as an Ontario Conservative. He will be joined on the Tory side by Andree Champagne, a former Conservative MP and actress from Quebec. The three new Liberal senators are: Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell, former Liberal MP Dennis Dawson of Quebec, and Rod Zimmer, a prominent Winnipeg businessman and Liberal fundraiser. Well, I was a bit shocked at Larry Campbell's appointment, but Martin is trying to push the Liberals to the left, so it makes sense. Any thoughts on these appointments? Quote
Canuck E Stan Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Larry Campbell is perfect, he's just like Martin. Full of ideas on how to run Vancouver but hasn't the ability to do it. Another hasbeen sent to the senate for supporting an even bigger dithering hasbeen.
