X-files Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Of all things! America is ready to rush into war against Iran… I hear an editorial office of some New York’s newspaper has a crude plan of this future military campaign that is to begin no later than early September of this year. I think it is just a stink. The matter is that the plan involves use of nuclear weapons (so-called nuke-weapons) against Iranian military objects and centers of state administration. It’s common knowledge that lately USA has been actively developing such weapons systems. Moreover, Israel has also taken part in creation of nuke-weapons. Thus, we have dealing with blatant violation of nonproliferation principle. But I was shocked that not a certain rogue state, but such superpower as USA is this violator. It means now any US actions are not under control of any international organizations. Well, what is more; US “activity” doesn’t get under basic limitations of existing treaties. Quote
Bobby Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Regardless of whether you want it or not we design new types of sophisticated weapons. And I tell you more, we’ll continue to do it. Your “existing treaties” are absolutely dead letters. But nobody wants to negotiate their adaptation to new conditions or to sign new ones. That is why America has all grounds for withdrawing from such treaties. And if we have an excuse, we’ll certainly use our nuclear weapons against any enemy of our state, wherever he hides his head. PocketRocket Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 The non-proliferation treaty was a tool of the times. It was primarily meant to keep the USSR from increasing it's inventory of nukes. Now that the USSR has crumbled, there is no other power that seems to be able to keep up with the US' production capability, and none seem interested in trying, so teh non-proliferation act is no longer of any interest to the USA. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I think I heard something on the news recently about the USA pulling out of the non-proliferation pact. Quote I need another coffee
I Miss Trudeau Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I think I heard something on the news recently about the USA pulling out of the non-proliferation pact. Its really rather ironic that the Bush administration sulked and felt betrayed when Canada decided not to sign on to BMD. Now we have them gleefully breaking treaties that are already signed (in contrast to Canada's assumed "signing" on to BMD) and all is well. Quote Feminism.. the new face of female oppression!
