Blond Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 There is a lot of information about US military base in Guantanamo or prison in Abu Graibe in our press or I-net. And it’s common knowledge that they “serve as temporary holding facilities for Al-Qaeda, Taliban and other detainees that come under US control during the war on terrorism”. But I think it will be more interesting for you to know that among those, whom they call “other detainees”, are Chechen terrorists. And Washington is not going to discharge them. According to opinion of US power they “present some threat to US security” because of their close links with well-known Al-Qaeda. But I can’t get why USA has rights to treat so brutally with ANY terrorists, but simultaneously it insists on different treatment with the same terrorists from Russian side. Every one describes the conditions at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Graibe as “cruel, inhuman” or tells about degrading treatment in violation of international law”, but nobody asks in the light of it why haven’t the international inspectors gone into America as they have come to Russia. Is it fair to behave like that now? Maybe, it’s enough for American side to be so hypocritical in international affairs? By the way, maybe, some of terrorists don’t pose any threat to USA, because they are working under its strict and continuous control… Quote
Bob 101 Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I agree completely it is totally insane how hypocritical we are. Quote
