Lenny_Bruce Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) Free Nadezhda Tolokonnikova whose only 'crime' was to challenge Vladimir Putin with free speech. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22317771 Edited May 8, 2013 by Lenny_Bruce Quote
Rue Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Might be more beneficial to use this forum to engage in a discussion as to that issue not just with utmost respect to you "inflamme". I happen to agree with you that it is a disgrace this inividual was arrested. Explain it to people. Use the forum to express your views. Let people know how and why this person was arrested. I encourage you to do so. Putin is a fascist. He is an extremist who does not tolerate free speech. Never did, never will. This man is lethal. He is an extremely intelligent man. He is brutal and lethal. He is the cream of the KGB crop. He was trained and killed with his hands. He has no qualms about crushing his foes. Unlike Stalin he is not insane. He is as logical and meticulous as it gets. This manis a machine. He is cold, calm, pragmatic, and plays chess as good as it gets and is usually many steps ahead of his opponent. What he fears is raw emotion. In many ways he is just the latest recycled version of the Communist Czar at the top of a brutal organization. To get where he did he had to be not just intelligent but cold blooded. Its interesting this man fears skinny little girls who sing songs. Imagine a Lion afraid of a mouse. Why is that? That is the key to the whole deck of cards that Russia is today. It depends on a brutal man to keep its cards from collapsing. The slightest wiff or sneeze of freedom will bring it down crashing. In a way its fascinating. To think such a sociopathic tyrant is afraid of the sneeze of a musician. Well someone should try understand the role artists have played in Russia in politics compared to the dummies in the US like Puff Diddy who are all about mee mee mee self promo. Quote
Lenny_Bruce Posted May 8, 2013 Author Report Posted May 8, 2013 Rue I didn't elaborate further, because I didn't need to do so. The Kafkaesque absurdity of this is open in the blazing light of day on its own, but thank you for your excellent and accurate description of the current state of Russia. I agree fully. Quote
Rue Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Rue I didn't elaborate further, because I didn't need to do so. The Kafkaesque absurdity of this is open in the blazing light of day on its own, but thank you for your excellent and accurate description of the current state of Russia. I agree fully. Thanks. I did not want to put words in your mouth LB. Man I am glad I am Canadian. That said, its a slippery slope. I see so many of us frightened by terrorism calling for more and more state powers-no I don't want terrorists running around killing people but no I do not want us to lose our freedom forever in the name of state security. There is a fine line between freedom and state control. A very fine line. Yah that chick looks dangerous. If it wasn't so absurd it would not be so scary. Its friggin insane. Quote
