Why is it that when there is a problem with a program the usual solution proposed by the left is to throw more money at it.

You were the one complaining that they took money away from it. YOu can't have it both ways.

And the conservatives and liberals are not thieves?

WWWTT

Well, the Liberals are. We haven't seen anything much of that from Harper thus far.

It is an inverted moral calculus that tries to persuade the world to demonize one state that tries its civilized best to abide in a difficult time and place, and rides merrily by the examples and practices of dozens of states and leaderships that drop into brutality every day without a twinge of regret or a whisper of condemnation. - Rex Murphy

It seemed as though others were criticizing the system put in place by the Liberals, while not criticizing the Conservatives for keeping it there.

The system doesn't work, and I blame the Liberals. They presided over its slow demise with fat bellies, fat budgets, and almost unlimited power at their disposal due to big majorities. And they did nothing.

If Harper ever gets his majority I expect him to do something dramatic to improve health care. If he doesn't, then I'll lay the blame on him too. But I consider that, to some degree, their hands are pretty much tied right now.

Their hands are only tied insofar as they don't want to come up with a solution that parliament can agree with. The government is not sovereign. They answer to parliament. If the majority of parliament consists of representatives that do not agree with their solutions, then they need to work on coming up with more agreeable solutions.

Solutions that the provinces also agree on.

That would require a level of compromise and risk taking no one in the last parliament was at all interested in.
