fellowtraveller Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 The Messenger: Ben Foster and Woody Harrelson are two US Army guys with the detail of informing next of kin that their loved ones are dead. It is short on comedy as you'd expect, but does not focus solely on grief, not the grief of the next of kin anyway. It explores the two main characters too. Worth seeing, some fine performances from the two leads and Emily Watson. A Prophet (Un Prophete)- French subtitled jailhouse drama starring nobody you've ever heard of. It is long, but never drags, explores the criminal education of a young man who is not part of any culture or gang, a bad place to be in a tough French jail. Don't see it if film violence disturbs you, otherwise a fine piece of film, an Oscar nomineee last year and well worth watching. Quote The government should do something.
