After years of mostly lacklustre war/politics films, the British decided to get it right. In the Loop is one of the best political satires I've ever seen. It's all about the insiders: American hawks (and one dovish General), British political careerists eager to tamper with the facts to give the Pentagon its war; leaks to the press, personal ambition, handling political fallout, and lies and self-delusions at every turn.

Its confusion and chaos, hilarious but with a definite feel of accuracy, belie the myths of sober leaders making cautious moral decisions about war.

Zero action, 100% talking heads...but more profanity than I've heard in any movie since Casino. And it's funny as hell.

As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.
