Former Liberal candidate investigatedPublished: Monday, August 18, 2008 REGINA -- A lawyer who recently stepped down as the federal Liberal candidate for Palliser is facing serious allegations from the Saskatchewan Law Society -- including that he forged documents and arranged to receive "substantial gifts" from clients. A notice by the Law Society of Saskatchewan says Garret Oledzki has been suspended from practising law as of Friday, and is not entitled to practise law again until further notice. According to the Law Society document, Oledzki is alleged to have imitated a client's signature on a will and used the client's name when neither the client nor a witness was present. jdobbin Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 The Tory candidate has stepped down for health reasons and the new Liberal candidate was announced. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/080902/...iser_candidates ncumbent Dave Batters has announced that he won't run again so he can focus on recovering from anxiety and depression.Batters says on his website that he has been ill for the last few months and also had to overcome a dependency on prescribed medications. Batter's announcement came on the same day Liberal Leader Stephane Dion announced that former Regina police chief Calvin Johnston will run in Palliser. Quote
